Fall of Leaves

The blue sky and bright southern sun illuminate all the reds and gold and oranges or the trees that surround us everywhere and inspire our music here. Bringing Brief Awakening to Asheville has been an adventure in reinvention and creation. Moving to a new city and saying goodbye to so many loved and amazing people was bittersweet. Saying goodbye to band mates Beck Goguen and Billy Leva was the hardest part. Their music is always going to be a part of Brief Awakening and as often as possible we are going to keep playing with them and meshing our creative energies into a big magick soup. Lately we have been playing with Hope Lucktenburg, and her enchanted violin has added much to our many shows in SC. One of the big events this fall was playing Upstate Pride where we were able to use our music to promote the cause of queer rights and GLBT equality that means so much to us. Other highlights included shows around the south on our mini Southern tour during which we visited Nashville TN, New Orleans LA, Johnson City TN, and Greensboro NC. Ashville is a sacred and glorious island where our music can flourish grow in the shade of ancient mountains and twisted trees. We feel lucky to be here and so grateful to everyone who has welcomed us and made it possible to keep sharing our creations with you. We love you too Boston Awakened Ones. You will always be our home.
