Happy New Year..new song demos on Reverbnation player just for you!

Hey I hope 2009 is treating you well so far.

I am going through my demo vault and have a whole bunch of demos that I am going to feature on my Reverbnation Player.

The first couple songs are from a few years ago. One song is called" Julia" and another one is called "Walk of Love. " Both these tunes were little demos I cooked up at home on my computer.

I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for your continued support and have a great day and a great 2009!

Love,

Blake

New Blake Havard Christmas song!

New original Christmas song demo.."Come Back Home For Christmas

Hey! Wow..it is already Nov.8. I am Typing away here at 2:44 am. I just completed a demo of a Christmas song i have been working on for a while. I have had a lot of fans and friends over the years asking me to put up a seasonal tune...mostly Roz from manchester UK. Ok..here it is. It was originally a Ramones New York rocker but it has since been influenced by my Nashville visits...New York is next on my trips. I think a lot of people can relate to this tune. We have all had or have some people in our lives we would like to reconnect with...Christmas is as good a time as any. Hope you enjoy this tune. Take care and I hope everyone is doing well in this crazy world.

Love,

Blake

Nashville Update!

Hey there! Just wanted to say hello and update my fans and friends. Nashville is feeling like summer..gorgeous weather. I jog every morning by the Belmont University where the big debate was a few weeks ago. Played some great solo acoustic shows at Tootsies, the Bluebird and tonight at a real cool venue called the Basement. Some great acts sharing the bill and it was a real pleasure to meet one of my idols Michael McDonald..a super cool guy. Real interesting and exciting to be down here for election night. Some real different views on the outcome from the people I talked to. I am off to the Sound Emporium tomorrow and a few writing sessions with some great artitst. Favourite guitar?

Hey! A while back a friend and big time supporter Roz from Manchester UK asked me what my favorite guitar was? I am not sure I answered the question but I did say something. I hope you enjoy this little answer:

Q: What is your favorite guitar? A: Favorite guitar? Favorite guitars? My favorite guitar? Someone else's guitar that is my favorite? My favorite guitar I have never played but would like to play one day? My favorite guitar... my favorite guitar? Good god don't get me going on guitars!

Right now I am really enjoying my Gibson J-45 acoustic with rosewood sideand an ebony fret board. It is only a year old and it is really turning into a great instrument. The wood is opening up and it is beginning to get a real personality. One day it will be a great guitar and with lots of love and attention it will mature and become a real good friend. I look forward to writing some new songs and saying some new things with it.

A lot of guitars over the years have had to put up with a lot of my crap! Through good times and bad there has always been a guitar around to act as my counselor, co-pilot, mediator, dream catcher, and best friend. When just about everyone else counted me out or I counted myself out, a guitar has been there keeping me going.

Sometimes I pick up an older guitar and I can feel it speak with a lot of wisdom and emotion. These guitars have captured the soul of all those players that have come before and you can feel the stories of all of those people resonating in the wood. These guitars can make you feel the best you can be. They seem to coax a real soulfulness out of your playing..nothing too fancy..just sincere direct and full of spirit. You have to honor and respect these guitars.

Ok Roz..how have i done? Not bad for not smoking any dope eh?

Hope you enjoyed this. If you are in Vancouver please come out to my shows: March 23-Penthouse Cabaret solo acoustic "Circle of songwriters" April 10- Roosters Country Cabaret

Have a great week! Love, Blake
