"Minstrels on the Block" was the most fun for me to produce during my time at CTVEA! Number 1, I'm a musician who loves music very much. Number 2, it was an excellent opportunity to show off the local area music talent. I knew there was a lot of talent around, but I had no idea we had that many talented folks, and with so much talent. We produced over 100 shows with that many local sic artists. Brian Mallard did a great job making our guests feel relaxed enough to be able to open up and talk about themselves. Most musicians are of the introverted persuasion. Each show except for about 3 are documented and I hope will be around for a long time. The music and the culture of western Georgia/east Alabama can be shared with many generations to come via YouTube and "Minstrels on the Block"! Thanks to all our guests for sharing their lives and music with us! You are all very much appreciated!

I have 4 songs that when you purchase them, half of the proceeds goes to the Cancer Foundation! This means a lot to me cuz my first wife and mother of my son, Vickie, died of ovarian cancer. If you buy and download; Brand New, Heaven Bound, Skies Are Blue, and Today, you are giving to a very worthy cause~!
"Heaven Bound" demo included here among my RN songs was a song written in June of 2012 about my Grandmother, Evelyn Boyd Slay passing. Bobby Walden wrote it with me the day I learnt of my Grandmothers passing. It turned out to be the last song Bobby and I wrote together. Bobby died January 8, 2013 in his sleep with a heart attack. Bobby and I started writing songs together when we were still kids in 1974. We hadnt written many songs together since the 80s, but still on occassion we found the opportunity to do so. I find it strange, yet very fitting that Heaven Bound should be the last song he and I wrote together. I loved Bobby like a brother, and "Heaven Bound" will always make me think of Bobby with a smile~Robert Charles Walden~3-09-59-- 1-08-13
Thanks to everybody that has listened, viewed, and liked my music on ReverbNation and my Facebook page. Not sure what actually constitutes pushing an artist up a local chart, but you who become fans and give likes certainly are the most important ingredient. Thank you all so very much for making me number 1 on the Columbus, GA Rock Chart. I never thought Will Dockery could be moved from that position! Will's a great artist! Again, Thank You!!!
My music is available on mobile devices.
