Demons Don't Follow Me

Hey Ram Boola Black fans.

Just a little update for you. I'm currently working on a new ep titled "Demons Don't Follow Me" that I'm hoping will be done by early spring. So far I have 2 songs in the can and 3 others that are being reworked and polished. It's going to be a 5 or 6 song ep with maybe an instrumental thrown in. We will see! So until then, You can rock out to my latest record "Spirit Of The Day" thru iTunes, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify and all other fine digital stores.

I'm looking forward to sharing the first song from this batch of tunes with you guys so stay tuned for a sneak preview after the new year.

Thanks again for all your support and have a great Holiday.

I love you all.

Random Update 091816

Hey everyone. Just a small update since its been awhile I have posted anything and what been going on since the last record came out. First I'd like to Thank everyone for the support and feedback of my latest record Spirit Of The Day. I really appreciate it.

There's also been a few personal challenges that have come my way recently months that have kind of stalled my creative flow but I know that I'll be getting back on the song horse soon. A while ago, I had written about 2 songs for what I had originally planned as the start of a new record. Now, I'm beginning to lean toward putting out a 3 or 4 song EP of completely different shit instead. I feel there is a small batch of creative statements that I need to express before starting a whole new full length record again.

So with that, I'm starting to get a serious itch in getting back into the "rock room" to start digging into writing some new stuff and getting it out sooner than later. Applying some WD40 on the creative gears.......... I miss it quite a bit.

I hoping my muse will show up and give me some new songs. Muse....do you hear me?

I'm getting antsy.....

021816 Update

Hey Ram Boola Black fans.

Just a quick update on whats going on. The Spirit Of The Day record is about 85% done being recorded so I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel now. There are just a few lines I need to re-sing and some other touch ups and then I can finally mix and send it to mastering. I am shooting for a late March early April release so fingers crossed. This record has been THE most difficult to do for some reason but not too much longer and it will finally be out for you to buy and rock it! Now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for this one, I'm beginning to hear my muse whisper new ideas to me for the next record already. So in the fine Ram Boola Black tradition, once this one is done and out, I'm diving right into the next one.

Thanks everyone always for the support and encouragement. It means the world.

I love you all.

110315 Update

Hey everyone. Just an update what is going on with the new Ram Boola Black record "Spirit Of The Day". It has been a slow process in re-recording all the songs from the demos but there has been some progress. I originally had everything mapped out on what I needed to do but that went out the window quick and I reverted back to the usual way I do things. Messy. All the drums have been recorded, some rhythm guitars have been laid down and re-cut several times, some vocals sung knowing I need to redo them, bass parts that I will be redone as well.... etc etc etc. It has been challenging. I have often thought about scrapping the entire 9 song record and completely starting over by new songs but when I listen to the "demos" from last year, I tell myself..."there are some good tunes there...they just need to be recorded right." So, onward and upward right? Just "keep chipping away at it" I tell myself. While these songs mean something to me because of the life experiences I went through last year, I am itching to create new songs from the current now. So with that, there is the latest. I'll keep chipping away at "Spirit Of The Day". Thank for the support. I love you all. Garrett

042215 Update

Hey everyone. Just a update on whats been going on lately. I have been jamming with a lot of friends recently which has been a total blast. The "Breakfield, Moreno & Smith" jams have been so much fun and real learning experience. Covering some of my own Ram Boola Black songs has been very humbling and seeing them come alive has been amazing. The Paul Samarin/Smith Kiss & King's X jams have been a blast as well. Everything from Kiss's "The Oath" to King's X "Visions" and everything in between. It has been a riot. The plans on covering AIC's Dirt in it's entirety is still in the pipeline so that will be happening in a few weeks I believe. That will consist of Derek Breakfield, Paul Samarin, John Achenbach and myself. A big undertaking fo sho but looking forward to that! What else??? I also have been jamming with this band called "The Black" which has been a lot of fun. Kind of a cross between Cheap trick and Motorhead. That's the only way I can describe it. Great stuff! Great guys for sure and may be doing some low key Valley gigs down the line. We'll see. I also have been slowly working on the new Ram Boola Black record as well. I have 6 out of 9 drum tracks laid down solid and I'm pretty happy with them. 3 more to go and then all the drums will be done!!! Then the real fun begins. Guitars !!! Yaaayy!!! Also, The Ram Boola Black Best Of is still going to come out. I have just been preoccupied with all of this other stuff, it has kind of taken a back seat priority wise. So there ya go you lovely people. That is the latest. There has been an onslaught of rock on me for the past few weeks, it's almost been over whelming. I wouldn't change it for the world though. Music is life....and my life is Music. I love you all, G

Update 022415

Hey everyone. Here is a little update on whats been going on. I recently moved into a new placed here in LA which has taken quite a bit my time to get settled but I have managed to do some music. On the main front, I have been jamming with my old Texture guitar player Allen Moreno and bass player Derek Breakfield which has been a blast. We have been playing some Ram Boola Black songs live for the first time with me singing and playing drums. It has been a wonderful and challenging experience to hear my songs come to life in a live setting for the first time ever. It has been a freaking blast. We have also been covering some of Derek's original songs which have been funky and totally fun. Who know where this is going but it's been a blast. I also have been getting to jam some KISS with my friend Paul when possible. We are big KISS fans so it has been a riot blowing through half the catalog trying to remember how songs like "The Oath" go. It has been hilarious hearing us train wreck songs like "Torpedo Girl" or "Hard Times". ( That's my fault Paul...sorry.." ) In addition, there is a date set on the calendar to try and attempt Alice In Chains "Dirt" live in its entirety with some of the peeps mentioned above. That will be a big undertaking but looking forward to seeing if we can get through the record. And finally, what going on with the Ram Boola Black stuff? well?.....I am beginning to record the new record March 14th. 9 brand new tunes that I'm looking forward to laying down and eventually sharing with everyone later this year. There will also be a Best Of coming out soon I promise. I have been kinda dragging my ass on that but It will happen. 13 "remastered" tracks of my rock journey. So there you go. A lot of rock and a lot of creativity going on. I wouldn't have it any other f'n way.... I love you all. G

My muse is on vacation and there is a Best Of coming.

Hey everyone. Here is an update of what's going on. Since the start of the holidays, I haven't spent a lot of time writing or recording. My muse went on vacation as well so I think that's why I have been feeling quite uninspired. I have 10 tunes demoed and the plan is to write a few more hopefully and start recording them for real in early 2015 for a late year release I'm assuming. It's definitely a Ram Boola Black rock record but it's got some different flavorings this round. Let's hope my muse comes back from vacation soon and gets back to work sending me songs. I can't write these things by myself. The Ram Boola Black Best Of is almost ready to go. You will soon be able to download it from iTunes or purchase a limited edition hard copy for those fans who like something tangible. It's going to be very cool. So there it is. A small update from yours truly regarding my music. Until then, be nice to each other and support independent music and art. There is a lot of great stuff out there. Go find it. I love you all.
