Our event was held last Sunday at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret. The weather was perfect, the moon in full view, and the marquee was promoting our event! We had an enthusiastic audience of 60 in attendance, six performers, one Emcee and the amazing and accomodating staff and crew provided by the Clocktower. The show was not perfect, there were a few minor events which resulted in our show running ahead of schedule, which in the long and short of things, wasn't that tragic. I'm just so thankful for the amazing performers, my co-producer and Lannie's for bringing my dream into realization. Next year seems SO far away and such a LONG time to wait, that we may just be back in the Fall for a Vampire themed event! Till next time, Bella

I have been working extra hard getting my Reverbnation page as up to date as possible for my recent submission to Night of 1,000 Stevie's, which is an annual event held in New York every year in the month of May. I know it would be a great opportunity and a lot of fun. But most of all, it would be such a great way to pay homage to the singer/songwriter I admire most, the incomparable Stevie Nicks. I hope that everyone enjoys the new videos and songs that I have posted. I was hoping to have my last two original songs completed in time, but cold and flu season has taken it's toll, and my recording days have been few and far between of late. That's all for this entry, Much love to you all!
Blessings! Lori "Bella" Clayton
Growing up in the 70's, I got a taste of all genres of music, from pop, country, disco and my all time fav, classic rock. In the midst of all that flavor, the cream rose to the top, and her name was Linda Ronstadt. She was an innovator - her backing band at one time was The Eagles! Everyone wanted to sing with her, I wanted to BE her! One of three female singers who has been my music teacher, my inspiration, my muse, Linda was the consummate professional in her career. There were never any stories about her "wild and crazy rock and roll lifestyle", she was very private, though she dated a very public figure for awhile, Gov. Jerry Brown of California. It breaks my heart to imagine a world without Linda's beautiful voice. Ear candy for soul, she touched my soul and my life in so many ways. I only wish the best for Ms. Ronstadt and send loving thoughts and prayers her way. Simple Dreams . . . very fitting title for the memoirs of a sweet and simple woman. Looking forward to getting my copy really soon. Enjoy my Remastered cover of Long Long Time - Dedicated to one of my idols - Linda Ronstadt!
I hope everyone has been enjoying my songs, I'm very proud of them, but I'm ready to start working on some new songs now.
My friend and producer Chris Cashe has been hard at work remastering all of my songs. The new remastered versions are being downloaded as they become available. So if you haven't listened lately, listen again - they sound great! A couple new songs have been added as well, including "Alone" my cover of the beautiful song by Heart. Enjoy!!!
I just sent out my first fan newsletter! Thanks to everyone for your continued support!
It was a horrible week, first the terrible tragedy in Boston, followed by the Fertilizer plant explosion in the small town of West, Texas .. . .a place very near and dear to my heart. As a child, my parents owned a small lake house at Lake Whitney. It was our great escape from the "big city" of Dallas, and when we weren't spending our weekends at the lake, we would travel the rest of the way to heaven . . the Texas Hill Country! On those "great escape" weekends, we would venture into West, Texas on Saturday evenings to attend Sunday services at their little Catholic Church. (If anyone can remember the name, let me know). After church we were off to this little restaurant on the main street of town for their very delicious chicken fried steaks. On Sunday mornings, we'd have fresh colaches from Kolachek's Colache kitchen - VERY good memories! We'd go to the West Fest most every year, and my sister and I learned to drive on the little country road between Waco and West, including the very traumatic time my dad tried to teach my sister how to drive a standard in his cliassic '63 Ford 150 pickup truck. Great memories indeed. Please remember the victims and families of both Boston and West in your prayers.
This was probably one of the most challenging recordings I have ever done. I love this song SO MUCH, so I wanted to make sure I did justice to it. I listened to my version compared to the original Fleetwood Mac version as well as the Soundstage version - mine compares more to the Soundstage version. It's definitely a different interpretation, and I hope that you enjoy it.
I have had a lot of people playing my songs over the last couple of days, that makes me happy, I hope everyone is enjoying what they are seeing and hearing on my page. Thanks so much for your support!
