Well, here it is, the new heavy metal sampler featuring 11 songs of 11 bands, f.e. the band I am joining, SHOTGUN JUSTICE. Excuse me but due to overwhelming impressions I have to bother you with some pathetic lines that are floating directly from my sick brain up to this page
We`re proud to be on the same release as so many talented and ambitioned young bands and musicians from so many corners of this world. If you listen to the energy and the powerful music of this compilation you might be aware that we all should never be afraid of a new metal-is-dead-era!
Honestly spoken it`s just a little sad that you still can hear the slight technical problems that we – SHOTGUN JUSTICE – have had throughout the years while recording our former demo songs, and that finally led to an intransparent and much too silent drum sound. Further on I guess we better should have taken another song for this sampler: after listening to this CD for serveral times I thought our title track "SHOTGUN JUSTICE" or "RIDE THE DRAGON" would have fitted better to the songs of the other bands. But nevertheless, this is a big-balls-compilation, a metal album raising up the spirit and the sound of 80`s and 90`s metal.
Finally some personal notes: as far as I know I might be the only musician on this entire record with double appearance. When David asked me for stuff of SHOTGUN JUSTICE for this album he told me about his doubts to collect enough material for a complete CD, so I also offered him to take a song of an old band of mine that I joined during the 80`s: BREATHLESS. I`m still not quite sure if this proposal was serious or if I just was jokin` after some beers (and if David only agreed due to the same reason) but I`m glad he did, in my opinion this is a real big thing!
I would like to thank David deeply for his dedication and his great idea of releasing such an album, and metal greetings to all the participating metalheads, musicians & bands...horns up & cheers with beers, always keep this STEEL HELD HIGH!!
At last, I`d like to dedicate the release of the final song "CAUGHT IN THE HEAT" (taken from a compilation vinyl called "Metal Hour", 1985) to our old drummer Mike Umann who first joined BREATHLESS and then GLORY ANTHEM later on during the 80`s, one of the best musicians I`ve ever played with, a charismatic person, good friend and funny guy. Sadly he passed away due to a train accident in 1999. R.I.P., my brother in metal!

Wir befinden uns im Jahre 2023 nach Jupp - Herbstbeginn.
Ganz Niedersachsen ist von Top40-Coverbands, Mainstream-/Pop- & Schlager-Radiosendern und fremdschämkulturellen bajuwarischen Wiesenfestzelten mit Trachtenkapellen besetzt...ganz Niedersachsen? Nein! Ein von unbeugsamen Metalheads bevölkertes Dorf hört nicht auf, der musikalischen Belanglosigkeit Widerstand zu leisten: Peine, die „Perle Niedersachsens“ (gängiges Zitat) , Ausgangsort für viele wundervolle gesellschaftliche Beiträge wie Stahlträger, Bier, Schokolade...und achja: Deutschlands älteste und hässlichste Newcomer-Metalband, SHOTGUN JUSTICE.
Doch wie kam es einst dazu?
Am 23. September 2003, einem Dienstag übrigens, trug es sich zu, dass vier lustige Spießgesellen sich zu einem zünftig-launigen Abend bei lautstarker Instrumentierung im Keller eines in einem Peiner Vorort gelegenen Wohnhauses trafen und ihre Verstärker zwecks Beschallung der genervten Nachbarschaft erbeben ließen – das Ergebnis ist, zwei Jahrzehnte später, die gediegene Kumpanenschaft um fünf Altherren-Metalmusiker, im Verbund auf den Namen SHOTGUN JUSTICE hörend, die nimmermüde und gegen jegliches besseres Wissen bestrebt sind, ihren traditionellen Heavy-Sound durch die örtlichen Gefilde zu blasen.
Es gibt in Kürze doppelt Anlass und Gelegenheit, dieses Jubiläum ausgiebig und angemessen ekstatisch zu feiern: SHOTGUN JUSTICE lädt an zwei Samstag Abenden zu den METAL AUTUMN GARAGE DAYS, um die Peiner Kult-Location „Garage“ mit kollaborierenden Bands zu bespielen. First live shows this year
As you may have noticed we successfully played two live shows in the past few weeks - opening for SAVAGE MASTER (US) and POWERGAME (Ger) in Brunswick at the KuFa-Haus (15th jan) and performing at Uelzen at the METAL MOSH VII festival (3rd feb).
It was a huge fun for us to play at both events: perfect organization, sound & lights, we made new friends in bands & musicians, and on top: the audience"s overwhelming reactions!!
First live clips have been released on our online preferences and here on Reverbnation - watch out for "The Exhibion" and "Point of no Return".

Founded in 2003, SHOTGUN JUSTICE signifies great and diversified oldschool Heavy Metal. Their new album „STATE OF DESOLATION“ establishes the fact that the German band is not limited by genre borders, its influences include Hardrock and Heavy Metal sounds as well as Thrash metal elements. Versatile, fresh and straight to the point, the songs on "STATE OF DESOLATION" will bring huge headbanging attacks to the stage-fronts. After all, SHOTGUN JUSTICE are well-known for their live qualities!
Although SHOTGUN JUSTICE had to face some changes in their band history their creativity has not been affected. Their current line up around founding members Tobias Groß and Erik Dembke hold influences from bands of different genres and embosses the sound of "STATE OF DESOLATION" with their own ideas. The band's critical and and provoking lyrics appear as straight as their music. In addition, the great voice of singer Marco, which has been formed by years of classical education, enriches the band`s sound.

Autum 2015
After first listenings to completed recordings we finally had a distinguishable result that gave us a similar impression to what will be put on CD later. Some master-CDs haven been issued and were given to the pressing plant. Expected date of release of "STATE OF DESOLATION" will be the 8th january 2016 via Kernkraftritter Records and marketing company ALIVE!
