Auditioning

Until late this is something I've never had to do (its hard to be humble when no one remembers your name)...I'm incredibly adept at screwing up especially as it turns out when it comes to an audition...First I'd like to mention if I didn't want the gig I wouldn't be auditioning at all...That said my thoughts fall on everything that can go wrong rather than concentrating on how well I should be playing...Because of this mindset I never audition up to my playing potential...On the opposite side when I've been asked to sit-in or jam...Or asked / hired for session work I never took any prisoners a very different mindset all together...Now I respect that opinions are many and varied but I'd welcome you to leave a comment about this issue...Let me and other drummers know how you handle these or similar situations...

Thank you & New Material

My very serious and appreciative thank you to all who have shown me your support...There is new material in the works already (studio sessions) were to begin on March1 to the 7th beds for 7 new songs and re-recording the bands first 3 songs. The first 3 tracks were recorded prior to myself and the guitarist joining the band...We were all looking forward to this but fate in a good way stepped in...The band is just to busy with shows through March and April right now (what a totally wonderful excuse). The producer came out to our show on March 1st which was really cool he's excited to get us in the studio this is not at all how I remember it back when...Today I can say without a doubt that I am truly blessed...

Familiarity

No matter what level of professionalism has been attained by the individual members in a band there is no substitute for familiarity. I say this for several reasons the first and most important reason derived from the more familar word "family" where everyone knows everyone else...Regardless of temperment, idiosyncracies et`al a family and it's familiarities survives...

Search Over

After being away from it all for 20 years I began looking for a band in June 2012. As expected I met and talked with lot of interesting people along the way. I'll admit having to audition for the first time was pretty intimidating. In early January I met Sam, Jake and Bobby. The chemistry was immediate no pretence no drama no altitudes. I had my first and second rehearsals on January 27th and 29th. Two shows followed on February 1st and 2nd they were without a doubt fantastic it is really great to be back...the studio is next March 1st to the 7th. With additional shows so far into May...
