My association with John Lennon

Many people on Myspace have asked me "Eddie Rhodes" did you meet John? or how was he?

Well heres my story: Not only did I meet him, but im on an album he and Yoko co produced for David Peel called "John Lennon for President". David Peel a very old and close friend of mine, and was a very close friend and band-mate to John and Yoko. Peel was in the Plastic Ono band and toured with John and played backup for John, as John also played backup when Peel performed (there's lots of video concert footage of them performing together on youtube). John got Peel on Apple Records and became his producer! In later years Peel, with a little help from John, Peel started his own record label Orange Records. I was a member of Peel's band as well as being a good friend. Peel was also a mentor and taught me a great deal - A-Z about making and selling music,(a lot of which he learned from John) so John was a close friend of a close friend of mine. I know a great deal about John, as I picked David Peels brain to learn more about John, his writing techniques, recording methods, personal life etc... Though I never had the chance to get to know John personally very well, I got to fill in the gaps through his ol' buddy. It was arraigned Peel had picked me to deliver the first copy of "John Lennon for President" to John in person at the Dakota, but alas Dec 8 came before I had the opportunity. But in the brief meeting I had with John he was very nice and totally down to earth, we talked a bit about my recording my first album which was at the same period he was doing and released double fantasy so we wished each other good luck on each others albums and shook on that as a salute to new musical beginnings for both of us. You can see my credits doing vocals on the back cover of the Lp of "John Lennon for Pres" Yoko also does vocals on that album, look in my photos for the credits, and read more in my Bio. We keep his spirit alive with our memories! Cheers to All! Peace! Eddie Rhodes.
