Here I am in Hollywood, trying to find the best options for a musician out here. It's not easy in a big city, figuring out where to go to be seen and heard, navigating traffic, and feeling a bit homesick. I suppose that is why I came out here, to make a wave in an ocean, rather than a ripple in a pond. However, I am now realizing that it doesn't matter anymore where you are, if you have a strong internet presence and you maintain a healthy performance schedule, promotion, and continue to impress fans, you don't have to be in LA or NYC to cause a scene. In this musical world in the 21st century, we should be happy to be able to bring entertainment and joy to others. Sure, "the working is hard, and the money is rough and we can't get enough" (to steal one of my own lyrics...), but isn't there a greater satisfaction in using the gifts God gave us for good, than becoming rich and famous? There always seems to be a part of us that drives to that "fame" goal, but I am sufficed with barely getting by...because I love what I do. I pray you are happy, too, and that your eyes are set upon a different goal, the exhilaration of climbing to the top of your own mountain.
