Portland Blues Rock artist Jake Blair and national touring artist and singer-songwriter Melody Guy are about to blend more than their voices and music as they announce their engagement. Melody and Jake met more than ten years ago when Jake was performing in the Portland area. Melody, who is an Oregon native, went to the show to hear Jake's band play, but ended-up on stage sitting-in for a song. The two kept in touch after that meeting, and eventually connected again through Facebook. Jake saw a post that Melody was going to be in Oregon and asked to get together. That meeting in the summer of 2013 led to the couple's engagement two months later. "I have had a life long dream of being loved by a man I can truly look up to", says Melody. "I feel so lucky to be the future Mrs. Jake Blair". Melody and Jake are set to be married in Rickreall, Oregon on February 2nd, 2014 in a casual celebration filled with family, friends and incredible music including countless well known regional musicians. Melody will be given away by close friend Eric Nadel, who is a radio sports announcer for the Texas Rangers. The ceremony will be performed inside a rustic church by a close friend of Jake's, Merrill Denny. Melody's Maid of Honor will be her Daughter Delaney Smith. Melody and Jake plan to share their lives and music together in both Nashville and McMinnville, Oregon.
