The winds of change will exhale swiftly in the month of June..
THEJOVIALPUSH line up you have all come to know will yet again undergo another modification.
Whilst licking our wounds from the recent sudden departure of Zach Rainville, newly acquired bassist Landon Leibel soon thereafter made us aware that his schedule would unfortunately not be able to accommodate The Push's summer plans and thus, exited the group. It is now with mixed emotions that we must also bid farewell to one of the members of the original line up - Mr. Ali Abbas. #WillYouOvercomeTheCrestOrEndUpLikeTheRest?
Although it is extremely difficult to swallow and allot of confusion surrounds the situation, we wish Ali all the best in his musical journey, and his new life with Amber as they embark to Calgary in search of happiness. An album is to be released amongst this whirlwind of commotion .. and it remains to be officially confirmed whether or not Darren Dreher will continue with The Push.
Steve Eisler WILL continue as THEJOVIALPUSH, refusing to let the project slip away and welcomes anyone who wishes to stick with him or join in on the project.
"I believe in the message, the original goal, objective and most importantly - the songs. I believe in The Push and will ride it out till the bitter end. I will continue performing the songs (new and old) either alone or with interested candidates.. all I ask of future auditions is sincerity, professionalism, drive and a mastered craft.".
THEJOVIALPUSH will not disappear, check back regularly for exciting, developing news! Everything happens for a reason and I am extremely excited for what is to come for The Push #IMadeItOutALive
The last 2 shows of our Juno's week combo were much needed .. After back to back stellar performances in front of big crowds in Saskatoon and O'Hanlons in Regina, we were brought back to earth in small settings at The Mercury, and Bugsy's in Moose Jaw where we were challenged big time to adapt all over again to the setting of a small space with limited sound benefits, and working it all ourselves again. We are more than capable of doing this as we have many times before but had some major issues this time around... unexpectedly losing our bass player last minute seriously hurt us. Amongst the negatives of the last 2 shows, their were a great deal of positives! It is a true test of character to stick with it for the entire show even when things go wrong .. after all it is a show, and the show must go on! I had forgotten how great the people of Moose Jaw are; last nights show brought probably the most positive reviews I have received despite the tech issues and adaptations to playing with out a bass player. We made a handful of new friends and, I believe I speak for everyone in the band when I say I dont think we will ever forget last nights experience. Thanks to the Vudu Hounds for opening for us, they were unreal, and thanks to the fans in Moose Jaw, you guys delivered last night beyond belief!
Last night was our best show to date. Everything felt right and there was something in the air. The boys of The Push felt this was out best performance we have brought to the table thus far and cant wait for Friday at The Mercury. It will be quite a change from playing a packed house at O'Hanlons so a smaller more intimate venue but, we love The Mercury and are looking forward to it! Anyone out and about Friday night should come check us out and have some great food! Bugsy's in Moose Jaw the following night!
Excitement! We were lucky enough to snag a handful of shows for the week that all the industry people are out and about here in town. Last night we kicked off show number one in Saskatoon with our friends The Rabid Whole from Toronto and it was a definite success! Each band played about 40 mins with a good response from the Monday night crowd. We are live again with The Rabid Whole tonight at O'Hanlons to wrap up their mini Canadian "Short Circuit" tour. I am most excited for tonight show .. Tuesday nights are great at Ohanlons and it will be even better with The Jovial Push/The Rabid Whole! Tonight would be a great night to make even more friends and aquire even more information than last night in Saskatoon! The Last 24 hours have been extremely educational and can only get better form here! Check us out tonight at O'Hanlons, you won't be disappointed
