Home

Someone asked me the other day where is it you call home? I had to think about that before I answered because home for some is where the light bill comes, where you hang your hat, where you’ve settled down or even where the road might take you. I have been blessed to call many great places home throughout my life but I needed to tell this person where home was so I thought about it. Where did I get my first kiss, drive my first car, get my heart broke for the first time. And where have I loved someone and gotten love back as someone once said home is where the heart is. I thought long and hard and Home for me is a couple of places Odessa MO is where I went to high school and where most of those things I mentioned happened but Home for me also is on a stage under the lights with a tuned up guitar in my hands and a microphone in my face. On a stage is the only home I have ever known. Home is where I am appreciated, loved, respected and where I have enough friends to count on to bail me out of trouble or maybe even jail. I think home for me is wherever I want it to be. I guess I am from Odessa MO and my second home is Chicago and my third would be Atlanta those three places have done the most for me to allow me to grow into who I am. All the other places have just been a place where the light bill comes or where the road took me. I have never lived in Colorado but would love to someday call it a home as well. I will finish my little blog here but I guess home for me is always changing! Joe..

New CD "Drive"

Well after months of putting the finishing touches on artwork and everything else along with our hectic (which I love) tour. It is here! Drive was released on July 13th and so far I won't kid you I am so pleased at the reviews and sales the CD is making. As you all know I wrote all ten songs and produced this album in Nashville with the top studio session guru's. Grammy winner, Eddie Bayers on drums. Guitar god Troy Lancaster, Brooks and Dunn’s steel man and my friend Gary Morse, Gary Smith and Mike Rojas on Keys!! And the master of ceremonies Larry Beaird (too many accolades to mention) on acoustic guitar and he helped me with charting arranging and anything else I asked of him!! Beaird Music group in Nashville is by far one of the best if not the best studio in Nashville!! I have been busy also with Hotmixology and have been on 6 shows in the last 4 month which airs to over 47 million viewers a week!!! I got to meet Mr. Elwood Blues himself Dan Akroyd and he is one cool dude. I have been playing the heck out of my Larrivee guitar lately and also have a new toy my 1963 Custom Telecaster relic which Kevin Heffernen built just for me. It is a great axe and I have never had a telecaster I love more. The band guys and I are tearing up more and more road and have some great summer shows coming up for our Honky tonk Tar Ball tour!! Well keep coming to the shows and I will keep singing and the Last Free Exit Band will keep you dancing. Oh and by the way thanks to all my great fans that have been helping spread the word. You Rock!!! And thanks to these great artists whom we have recently shared the stage with. Jason Aldean, Reckless Kelly, Mickey and the Motorcars, Jason Boland, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Logan Mize, Locash Cowboys, Billy Currington and John Michael Montgomery. See you soon and get your copy of "Drive" soon. Joe...
