Farewell: From The Spies

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We regret to announce that Mark Matkevich is leaving The Spies. Mark is moving on to another exciting chapter in his life and no longer has enough time to dedicate to the band. We know it was not an easy decision for him, as this has been an amazing journey for all four of us. We wish him all of the best in everything that he does. Mark is like family to us, and we will keep you posted with news about him and the Axiom Contemporary Gallery, as well as the official online release of our final album: Good Evening, Morning Songbird.

Leo Francis, Adrian Barrio, and Dylan Giagni are continuing the band under a new name and with a new sound. There is already new material in the works and we are excited by the prospect of adding Danny Borden (Ladyheat, 6L6) on guitar and vocals. We will keep you posted about upcoming gigs and other news. In addition Leo Francis will be playing a few solo acoustic shows in the near future. We will keep you posted on those as well.

We would like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support over the last seven years. We appreciate everything that’s happened during our time together. It’s been a wonderful run, and we will miss you all. Once again, thank you.

Sincerely,

The Spies

-Leo Francis, Mark Matkevich, Adrian Barrio, and Dylan Giagni
