IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING WHERE ANGELS SUFFER/I.C.O.N TOUR IN DECEMBER.
A MESSAGE FROM THE PROMOTER :
"Dear All, It is with great sadness that we have had to postpone the Where Angels Suffer tour until further notice. This is due to the sad news that singer Rich Lewis's son has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and Rich doesn't want to travel outside the USA and wants to be by his son’s side which is understandable. I'm sorry that we have had to do this but the band, have decided out of respect for Rich this is the only course of action."
I.C.O.N SEND OUT IT'S VERY BEST WISHES TO THE LEWIS FAMILY AT THIS TIME. WE WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF ANY NEWS.
Rising UK metal band I.C.O.N are about to undertake their most extensive UK tour to date continuing the promotion of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘New Born Lie’. The tour culminates in December with five dates as guests to US metal band Where Angels Suffer featuring former members of W.A.S.P and Metal Church.
In recent years, I.C.O.N has shared the stage with Diamond Head, Voodoo Six, Blaze Bayley, Sworn to Oath, Witchfynde, Furyon, Zico Chain and a host of other rock and metal artists.
I.C.O.N consists of founder members vocalist Mark Sagar and guitarist Scott Knowles, ex-Nightmare Visions bassist Reece Bevan and former UK drummer of the year Aaron Youd.
The ‘New Born Lie On The Road’ tour will take in amongst other places London and the South, The Midlands, North and South Wales, Scotland and the North West.
Says Scott ‘This tour is certainly the largest UK trek we have done so far. Around twenty five dates in total. The band is kicking on all four cylinders since Reece and Aaron joined us last year. We’ve been gigging very hard for the past twelve months, introducing the new guys and tightening the set. We’re looking forward to hitting lots of new venues as well as returning to others as the buzz is really building for us. The dates we have on the Where Angels Suffer tour is a huge opportunity for the band and the thought of sharing a stage with rock legends like Chris Holmes and Stet Howland from W.A.S.P is really getting us fired up!’.
I.C.O.N have consistently toured throughout the UK and mainland Europe continuing to build a loyal fanbase. The band have appeared on SKY TV, BBC Radio, Total Rock Radio and appeared in rock press such as Metal Hammer and Powerplay magazines. Two tracks from the album appear on the worldwide smash PC game MOTORM4X and lead track ‘Messiah Complex’ continues to receive airplay on international rock radio stations.
The band have been announced amongst the first seven bands for the 2013 SOS Festival in Manchester next July. I.C.O.N have just secured their first official endorsement with UK based Dovetail Strings.
I.C.O.N plan to write and record their second album in 2013. ‘We are itching to get the second album done!’ Scott admits ‘But the touring has been so busy this year as we felt there was a need to be out there on the road. The ideas we already have are enormously exciting and we have a couple of producers in the frame, so we’ll definitely be taking time out to hammer the next batch of songs into shape early next year and the second album is expected to be released at the end of 2013’
I.C.O.N tour the UK from September to December 2012.
Well, the Spring tour is at an end and what a tour!
Starting back in March, we hit the road for some warm up shows before starting in Manchester. The tour was mainly focussing on our Northern friends, (we will be announcing dates further afield later in the year.)
We had an awesome time and played with some superb bands including Kyrbgrinder, Line of Fire, Karma Killers, Fire in the Empire and many more.
Metal Gods Festival on Saturday 26th May was fantastic and we made many new friends and hung out with some very cool people and bands. A great end to our spring tour.
Thank you to everyone that came out and saw us on these dates, bought some merch or an album - you rock!
Below are our current dates for summer 2012.
These dates are continuing our run of Northern shows, visiting some old friends and hitting new venues too.
At the end of June, we will making our first appearance at the legendary Tache Blackpool, opening for MAIDEN SCOTLAND. The guys have backed original Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’anno on a few tours and are well worth checking out.
We are delighted to announce that we are guests to the excellent and fast rising DEF-CON-ONE featuring the exceptional ex Venom/Mpire of Evil drummer Antton Lant.
The guys were on the first stage of Metal Gods festival and we had a killer day with them, so we are very pleased to be opening for them in Blackpool in August. We will have tickets available for this show, so don’t miss out!
There are more shows to add - including some VERY cool shows coming up that we are extremely excited about, but we can’t tell you just yet…Stay posted!
We hope to see you at some of our summer dates.

Our brother Larry Paterson has been the victim of a callous, spineless theft.
The fuckers in question have stolen Larry's drumkit from Palmer's Green, London around the last 24 hours.
PLEASE - Take a look at the details below, forward this on to ANY musical buddies you know and let's return this
equipment to it's rightful owner.
Larry is one of THE best metal drummers around and needs your support.
Thanks eternally friends. :)

To all our friends,
Firstly, we would like to publically thank Larry Paterson for all his help and support this past couple of months. Larry offered to step in to fill the drum stool for our tour dates whilst we auditioned potential drummers. He has played an important role in keeping the band active and positive during this period. Larry, we are forever grateful for all you have done for us and you are most certainly an honorary family member of I.C.O.N. Thank you so much from all of us and the best of luck with your exciting future projects. We would also like to specially thank Anna Di Laurenzio for her help and advice and being a great friend to us.
I.C.O.N are very pleased to welcome drummer Aaron Youd into the band, completing our new line up.
After a stunning audition, the chemistry between Aaron and the rest of us is electric. His goals, enthusiasm and focus match ours, and we’re very excited about his presence in I.C.O.N.
We’ve auditioned some superb drummers this past couple of months (and we thank you all for your time, we’re very grateful.)
Aaron’s unique and powerful drumming style absolutely gel with the band, refreshing the debut album material and we’re looking forward to getting back out on tour and bringing the new line up to our friends everywhere!
The welcoming of Aaron and our new bassist Reece Bevan brings to a close the toughest period of the band that we’ve faced so far. We’d like to thank everyone for their support these past few months, our family behind the scenes, including Ang, Steve and Julie. Our personal friends who have kept us going, and to our amazing fans - we’re grateful for your messages and inspiration.
Now, it’s back to the rehearsal room for the four of us and working hard for the upcoming tour dates which we will be giving you shortly.
After a number of important meetings with management, we have much in the pipeline and are now very excited about the time ahead.
Rest assured friends, lots to share very soon…
Thank you for your support.
Good to be back.
Mark Sagar - Vocals Scott Knowles - Guitar Reece Bevan - Bass Aaron Youd - Drums
I.C.O.N are delighted to announce the arrival of bass player Reece Bevan to the band.
Reece played with legendary Northern metal band Nightmare Visions for many years and is well known to us. We have great memories of sharing a stage with NV when both bands were guests to Ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Blaze Bayley in 2008 and hazy memories of sharing lots of beers afterwards...!
After talking to many bass players these past few weeks, it was obvious to us that Reece was the natural choice to join I.C.O.N from meeting with him.
Reece has been knocking us out with his huge bass sound, solid playing, energy and commitment and we’re thrilled about his sound on I.C.O.N music present and future.
We’re now looking forward to our first live dates with him, which will be in Europe in July.
As we also have our good mate Larry Paterson on drums for these Euro shows, to say we’re excited about the four of us hitting the stage together is an understatement!
We hope you will give Reece a warm welcome to the family and we all look forward to seeing you on tour soon.
For us now, the focus is on our brand new material, finding our new drummer and rebuilding the beast that is I.C.O.N...!
The ascent has begun...
Thank you for your support friends.
