Possum Update 4/23/12

Howdy folks, Just when we thought things couldn’t possibly get any more exciting here at Possum Central, we get another dose of thrilling news!! On Sunday, April 22, Possum’s own Dave Willis made an honest woman out of Allison Everhart by asking her to be his bride. Against her better judgement, she said YES!

Congratulations to Davo and Allison!!

Now, let’s get down to brass tacks. Possum Jenkins is in the midst of a heated race to see who will be crowned Best Band, Group or Duo in the Independent Country Music Association’s 2012 Fan Poll. After leading the balloting for several days, we’ve fallen behind by some 500 votes heading down the home stretch.

Folks, we need a win here. You can vote once a day every day from your computer, phone, or whatever web device you fancy. Please cast your votes daily and help spread the word and we just might pull this thing off. The voting ends one week from today, so don’t delay. Click to http://www.icmanet.com/voting/fanvoting.php to vote now.

Possum Jenkins is back in action this Saturday, April 28, when we team up once again with Knoxville, TN’s own Dirty Guv’nahs for a rowdy night of rawk ‘n country at The Garage in Winston-Salem. Show starts at 9:00 p.m. Possum will hit the stage at 10:30 p.m.

Give our calendar a look see for when we’ll be in your neck of the woods. New shows have been posted and there are more on the way, so check back often.

Thanks y’all. We’ll see you at the shows!!

Possum Update 8/08

Hey y'all In recent months, Possum Jenkins has been in cahoots with Tennessee-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Reagan Boggs. A veteran musician who has released two stellar solo releases in recent years, Reagan recruited PJ to play a handful of shows as her band. This is a totally new venture for us and we're extremely excited to be partnering with such a strong songwriter.

Our first show with Reagan will be Friday, August 15, at the Border Bash in Bristol, Tenn. While we don't have any show currently scheduled in North Carolina, it's likely that if our partnership continues, some dates will be added for the late fall.

Please show Reagan the same borderline-obsessive Possum love that y'all have shown us in the last couple of years. You can check her out online at www.myspace.com/reaganboggsmusic and www.reaganboggs.com.

Latest Possum News 8/08

Howdy folks, We here at Possum Central hope you’ve been having a great summer and remembering to liberally apply sunscreen while outside consuming cold beer and shooting off illegal fireworks. We had several great shows back in June in Boone, Blowing Rock and Brevard. However, our set at the Twin City Rib Fest was possibly one of the most miserable, waterlogged experiences we’ve ever had. Fortunately, none of us were electrocuted and we were able to drink our blues away later that night.

On to the matters at hand…On Saturday, August 9, PJ will return to the friendly confines of The Garage in Winston-Salem along with Nashville outfit Les Honky More Tonkies. Check them out on the web at www.myspace.com/leshonkymoretonkies. If you haven’t been to The Garage, it’s become just about our favorite place to play music. The folks there are wonderful, the sound is great and the beer is cold. What more do you want? Go-go dancers?
