Paper And Lead (A Poor Mother's Payer)

"We are qualified Each to think and speak out of sync In this blink of an eye existence

Life is like a spinning top Those who stand still Loose momentum And disappear Like spots in a rear view

Who will be forgiven For not accumulating wisdom And rhythm With their inner?

Who will not meet their true self on this road And sometimes fail to treat their true self kindly? Who will not proceeded blindly into oncoming tragic ways? Who will not have slept for days That will become years That will become The same faces that have appeared on previous generations?

All choices have voices And doors Some are more kind to the blind than others Some are more blind to the kind than brothers Who have become their own worst enemies Time is also viewing with enmity It will not be forgiving

This is where we will lay our heads Until enough days have passed Until hours and tasks have taught wisdom The speed in which we'll learn Will be our decision

Hear the speech on the streets with colors flashing See the pouring beers For ghosts who appear during sleepless fights Hear the hate That can't live unless some die See the faces that take lives And sells them for paper and lead

This is where we will lay our heads Until enough days have passed Until hours and tasks have taught wisdom The speed in which we'll learn Will be our decision

We are in this world together Even when we part Amongst faces Who are

Qualified Each to think and speak out of sync In this blink of an eye existence

Life is like a spinning top Those who stand still Loose momentum And disappear Like spots in a rear view

We will not be forgiven For not accumulating wisdom And rhythm With our inner

Be true To your true self Little Spirit You can not shine with hate filled eyes Life will not be kind if we cross sides And seek to rise with faces That take lives And sell them for paper and lead

This is where we will lay our heads Until enough days have passed Until hours and tasks have taught wisdom The speed in which we'll learn Will be our decision"

"Things That Heal And Hurt"

"I am one / In a world filled with many / In a galaxy filled with many / In a universe filled with many /

That is why / I find it hard to think / That I can do anything / But think small / Or know what it means to / "Have it all!" / When "All" / Is beyond my comprehension /

What I do know is / Emotions called "Love" / Have been my fuel / And have moved me / Towards / Things that heal and hurt /

Some have been worth / Holding onto / In this world / That holds onto it's circle / In it's galaxy / In it's universe / As I've searched amongst / Those who search for meaning /

In the vastness of it all" /

She Speaks With Her Eyes As I Write

""Sew true / And respect your heart / Protect your spark / And you will see / In dark times / Delight" /

She speaks with her eyes / As I write / Witnessing the world around us singing / In these days of catch phrases / And glazed over mirrors / I hear her think / She has a home / That deep / In the heart of me /

Faces show traces of places they've been /

No matter how much / Words try to change the air / Insight is always there / And I seek to see / Past speech / Internally /

"Is it he? /

Who can sit still / On an Embattled field? / Who's wounds will heal most deeply? / Most completely? / Is it she? / Who has the will to walk the Earth / Caring for others? / In spite of others? / Who is / What others only claim to be? /

Who glows?" /

"Sew true / And respect your heart / Protect your spark / And you will see / In dark times / Delight" /

She speaks with her eyes / As I write" /

"Rise From Fiction"

"The worlds afflictions / Did not rise from fictional tales / The source / Of the lack of remorse / That litters the planet / With unmanageable / Sorrows / And seeks to consume / The world tomorrow / Does not cry when we cry / Or care who dies / As long as it gets what it wants / It is ambivalent / And flaunts In the face of / Starving masses / The present state we're living in / Is one of those painful classes / That must be attended / To be comprehended / Billions are counting the minutes / Hoping to see it ended / And explained / So that it may never be / Needed again / What is left of many minds / Has been twisted / We fear we've failed / But note / The worlds afflictions / Did not rise from fictional tales" / From The Poem And Song Collection / "The Artist's War" / By Ronnie Lee Daise / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. "All Was Broken"

"He claimed all was his alone / And laid waste to her garden / Her dreams / Her home / Heated words / Leapt into the streets / And violent eyes / Spat streams of things / That left her choking / Until / All was broken / Charred and smoking / She saw onlookers could see her pain / And strong fears of rejection / How could she play sane / All was broken / Charred and smoking / Her sisters tried to relieve her pain / To show that she'd been released / From consuming rage / But / There had been too many fights / Too much shame / Too many ties / There was only a tale left to tell / To be placed as a warning / To save others from hell / All was broken / Charred and smoking" / From The Poem And Song Collection / "The Gang City Blues" / By Ronnie Lee Daise / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. Man's inhumanity to woman. Would that there could be an end to such goings on. Powerful words, well written. :-) Dan Kellington

"Salted"

"The past few years / Have been blessed / By the tears that have salted them / They have been colored / By things that have been lost in them / But enlightenment shines / Best in dark places / There have been many stages / That have changed us / In this play / Memories have / Stained us / And sustained us / Who rush in to speak our arts thoughts / Some say that we are a dying breed / Who are trying to breathe / Our last breathes / But secrets will be kept until the very end / When all begins again / Reinvented / And the air has been scented with / Fresh care / Some will say / "I was there / And / The past few years / Have been blessed / By the tears that have salted them" / From The Poem And Song Collection / "The Artist's War" / By Ronnie Lee Daise / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. "INNER CHILDREN CRY"

"ARTIFICIAL FOOD AND ORGANIC EVIL / THIS IS NOT A WORLD / THAT MOST VISIONARIES CAN SEE THROUGH / IT IS HELL FOR THE EXPERIENCED / AND MUCH WORSE FOR THE INNOCENT / THE ENEMY OF TRUE LIGHT SHINES ON ALL / MARTYRING THOSE / WHO WON'T BARTER FOR THEIR SOULS / COUNTLESS MANY ARE LOST / TO THE EVIL FROST / OF THE SOULLESS-NEST / BUT STILL / SOME TRY TO DO WHAT'S BEST / ARTIFICIAL FOOD AND ORGANIC EVIL / THIS IS NOT A WORLD / THAT MOST PSYCHICS CAN READ THROUGH / HOLD YOUR NOSE / OR TRY TO BREATH THROUGH / THE INTENSE STENCH OF LIES / IT IS NO WONDER SO MANY / INNER CHILDREN CRY" / FROM THE POEM AND SONG COLLECTION / "THE ARTIST'S WAR" / BY RONNIE LEE DAISE / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. "What's In Fashion"

"Am I feeling the rhythm in your heart? / We ask ourselves / And if not / We part / Am I feeling the rhythm in your moves? / We might think aloud / Before we / Find another groove that is compatible / With our comfort / Our needs / We might sink into an out of sync / Pattern that flatters us at first / But Our hearts thirst for true passion / And what's in fashion / Isn't known For lasting / So / I'm asking / Am I feeling the rhythm in your heart?" / From The Poem And Song Collection / "The Poet's Book Of Love" / By Ronnie Lee Daise / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. "The Rhythm"

"I had a dream / About a drummer / With no sense of rhyme / He seemed oblivious / To the fact that he was there / To provide poets / With a platform for rhyming / The artists couldn't get with him / And the audience's cursing lips / Didn't get to him / He seemed fixated / On his random taps / In this dream I had / I was on stage / Looking back at the man / Before I woke / Thinking / "Who would want to be that man / Holding the art world / And it's audience back / With his abstract / Random / Prolonged / Detached / Fascination / With taps?" / I sat up this morning / Before dawn / And thought / "How long / Has this been like / "The Rhythm" / Forced upon our lives?" / From The Poem And Song Collection / "The Artist's War" / By Ronnie Lee Daise / Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise. "Mon Amie"

"I like the choices that you make - When you groove - The way you sing your songs- Out of tune - The colors that you place - In your room- The way you say - "I'll need you soon"- People are drowning in a sea of loneliness- Can we find something better to do?- Can I come by- Mon Amie- To see my only you- Can I come by- With only me- To improve my point of view?- There's an awful lot of fear of togetherness- And heads are full of- Koo Koo McViews- I want my bed with you- When I'm ready to rest- Least I wake up- With a dumb point of view- No need to study me- For you to pass my test- Just be you- Being you- Can I come by-- Mon Amie- To see my only you- Can I come by- With only me- To improve my point of view?"- Lyrics by: Ronnie Lee Daise- For "A Gang Of Poets" EP "20 Minutes"- Copyright © 2012 Ronnie Lee Daise.
