On February 1st the Gold Dust Lounge made the long anticipated transition from its home in Union Square for 79 years to the new 2,700 square foot space at Fisherman's Wharf with all the pomp and circumstances befitting a treasured landmark of the Bay Area. The official ribbon cutting ceremony began when Bay Area native and veteran actor Stuart Whitman hopped aboard a covered wagon outside the original Powell Street watering hole and led a procession of revelers, including a four man Dixieland band to the new lounge.
