Bio

Israel Gonzales' career in music started a little later in life than most musicians.Growing up,he could always be caught listening and singing along to music on the radio. It was in 1999 when Israel picked up the Live at Luther College album. The duo made up of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds absolutely blew him away!A last minute day job came up that paid 100 dollars and with that,Israel purchased his first acoustic guitar. Guitar came very easily to the soon to be freshman in Tarrant County College. His sophomore year changed many things, because the college life was getting a little boring. At this time,Israel realized that his direction in college was not where he thought it should be;so as every other student does,he decided to work full time and focus all of his free time in learning the"ins and outs" of guitar. Israel's new life was looking a bit uncertain, but his confidence grew with each passing day. Israel was learning the art of music, as well as its close contemporary partner...Everyday Life! This went on for a few years and all the while,Israel's style and sound was being shaped and formed into something great. After a short stint of open mic nights and playing for friends(to gain confidence)He knew that playing cover songs every night, would one day run out of gas. Israel was not about covers songs,he needed a way to find that original material he knew he could write. This came by way of taking snippets of every genre of music he had ever heard and forming his own unique sound. After moving out of his moms apartment in 2002,he moved in with a close friend of his.Israel found the peace and quiet he desperately needed to perfect his craft. His nights consisted of writing song after song and picking only the ones he knew could touch an audience. Then came the recording process.Israel discovered the 4 track recorder.Demo tapes piled up and so did the music sheets. In 2005,Israel finally had gained the confidence to tell the local music scene that he had finally arrived, but to his disappointment, the local musical family he was seeking, did not greet him with open arms. Then in 2006,Israel's life came to a screeching halt, when his 19 year old baby brother Gilbert, suddenly passed away due to a heart condition.Life looked bleak and Israel thought that he would never be the same again..that music would never be the same again. Well, through the darkness,Israel found light. The arms of the Lord Jesus picked him up and dusted him off.Through his new found faith, Israel found a new joy in life,a new way of expression. This new joy brought friends and family closer than ever before. It gave a meaning to his music and to his life. From that came new songs of hope, love and expression. 2007 brought a demo CD,numerous shows and new fans of his music to call his own.2008 has brought more songs, thoughts, ideas, video production opportunities and a LP in the making. 2009..will surely have greater things in store for Israel Gonzales.
