What up my peeps in the hood ... ?

On a more serious note ... What do people think of all these older bands getting back together and going back on tour? and better yet ... the older bands that are still touring that probably should've stopped ages ago? FOR EXAMPLE ... The band that most recently announced their Van Halen. Don't get me wrong, these guys tore it up in their day but hearing their new songs off the latest album, A Different Kind Of Truth, they don't have what they used to ... Eddie had said that he was very nervous to record this album sober (kicking his long drinking problem) in my mind, I now hear why. This whole album sounds like they're trying to recapture their youth or re-invent ttheir old sound. In this day and age it's just not possible, in my mind anyway. The first single released off this album was entitled Tattoo. To sum it up with one word, it was horrible.

There are very little new albums that come out these days where you can hit play and not worry about the next song (Wasting Light by the Foo Fighters for example) It seems to me that these older groups trying to make a come back are just in it for the money and fame rather than the art and love of music. It's sad really ... Also, like I mentioned before, the bands that are STILL on tour that should've stopped ... KISS ... Gene Simmons ... Him and his hair should've retired about 25 years ago.

Also, what are with all these bands coming out all of a sudden that are just gimmics. GOTYE with their youtube sensation hit "Somebody That I Used To Know"? That song is also crap. In my opinion (which is usually right) a band that has a gimmic or something they're using to trick us into liking them in reality are not good musicians. Look at The White Stripes, When Jack White and Meg White were together all it was was drums, a guitar, and vocals. They came out with some of the best music that still to this day beats any Justin Beiber song; and again, going back to The Foo Fighters newest album. Dave Grohl said it best in his Oscar acceptance speech that in todays music buisness it's all about technology and computer editing rather than talent! Some people should take a few pages from his book.

In Conclusion, Justin Beiber sucks, Dave Grohl doesn't!!

S'up?

Hello internet! I've decided i'll take a stab at writing a blog. I'm not exactly sure what i'll be writing about, how often I'll actually write things or why ... but I'll do it to keep my sanity. I'll most likely use this blog to keep everyone updated on the band, let everyone know how things are going and all that but if there's a topic that I feel needs to be touched on; I will!

Here's my first contribution! Has everyone seen the newest video posted from the Coachella Music Festival? with the hologram of Tupac singing with Snoop Dogg? (I'll post a link to the video below) In my personal and professional opinion, I believe that wasn't a hologram ... that's Tupac making his come back from dead celebrity island!! I've heard (from credible sources) that they've got an Elvis/Michael Jackson duet for Lallapalooza in the works! Which i'm pumped for!

Anyway, I hope you guys keep coming back for more great insights into the mind of a bass player ...

Dan out!
