Biography of Drew Deprey *Updated April, 2012*

Drew has worked with several songwriters, and established producers in the music business. Producers he's worked alongside with are Skidd Mills (Saving Abel, Sick Puppies, 12 Stones), James Michael (Motley Crue, Meatloaf, Alanis Morissette, Papa Roach, and lead singer of Sixx A.M.), and Joey Moi (Nickelback, Tim McGraw, Daughtry, Hinder.) Songwriters he's written with include Blair Daly (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Uncle Kracker), Trevor McNevan (lead singer of hit christian rock band Thousand Foot Krutch), Ben Moody (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, and also former lead guitarist of Evanescense), James Michael (producer mentioned above), Joey Moi (producer mentioned above), Skidd Mills (producer mentioned above), Brian Craddock (current guitarist of Daughtry), Andy Waldeck (Daughtry, Stone Temple Pilots, Scott Stapp of Creed), Johnny Andrews (Apocalyptica, Better Than Ezra), Warren Bros. (Hinder, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks) Jason Rauch (former guitarist for rock act RED), and Craig Wiseman (Kenny Chesney, Leann Rhymes, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith.) It all started at the age of around 2 where Drew received a toy guitar. Move on to pots and pans for some experimenting, then on to 8 years old where he picked up a viola. At around 13, he received the one and only gift he had asked about, a drum set. Drew played the drums in his basement while teaching himself how to play songs. All this while simply listening and playing along, it was around those times where Drew knew he was much better at playing or creating music all by ear, and not by reading music notes. Drew joined his first band when he was 17. The band grew some local attention, but quickly realized that they were lacking a singer. After a few attempts at trying to fill the void, Drew started singing along to Shinedown's version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man" that was on the radio while finishing up at a practice. It was then that everything changed. The band reformed, got a new drummer, Drew became the front man and started writing lyrics. Through all the changes, they called their band "Stilrize," as in "still rising through everything, and not giving up. Drew wrote upwards of 20 some odd songs with the band. They quickly gained a lot of local success, made a mark and started opening up for acts such as Papa Roach, Candlebox, and 3 Doors Down. In late 2009, they caught the attention of the VP of A&R at Roadrunner Records named Ron Burman who was responsible for signing one of the biggest rock bands today, Nickelback. The band saw this as their chance, so they played a sold out show in Boston put together entirely on their own, and by request from Ron. Ron saw the show, the crowd, and the way they were singing along to every song and was instantly impressed, and offered a contract within a few weeks. In early 2012, StilrizE got out of their contract with Roadrunner/Atlantic Records due to unresolved issues. Drew and the drummer left the band after several tries to keep the band's morale up after a long 2 years with the label, and after undisclosed differences within the band. Drew Deprey is currently residing by Nashville, TN after a big life decision and move to pursue his undying dreams as a singer/songwriter. Although the move was not too long ago, he has already scored his first project singing background vocals all across Saving Abel's upcoming 2012 album release. The dream continues.
