There's a lot of exciting stuff happening for me at the moment, not to mention a lot of exciting projects both nearing completion and just beginning. I've just been notified that there are two big, unmarked boxes in the hallway where I am living in Melbourne, which I can only assume are full of CDs! As I'm in Adelaide still I can't confirm the contents just yet, but one thing is for sure, it's time to get excited! I'm really stoked with how it has all come together. The tracks sound great - all 13 of them - and the artwork looks amazing. It will certainly be worth getting your hands on a hard copy of this one rather than downloading it. You'll want to spend a while gazing at each beautiful picture Wendy Webb has drawn. I'll be launching the CD in Melbourne and Adelaide in a couple of months. In other news, our collaborative CD project 'Preloved Folk' is to be launched at The Wheatsheaf Hotel in Thebarton, SA, on Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th November. It too sounds fantastic and it was an absolute privilege to be a part of such a project. I've been working on a website lately which should be ready to launch very soon at www.marywebbsings.com. It became a rather more urgent job when I found out that those who are not members of Facebook cannot access my FB band page. As a result I have redirected my web address to my MusicSA listing and soon the website itself will be up and running. I'm getting into gear now for Fringe 2013, with applications closing within the week. Last year's collaborative show 'We as Art, We as Artists' was a huge buzz for us and a great success. I'm looking forward to the next few months of making a bloody great show from scratch! I know it's going to be A LOT of hard work and I'm ready for it! The latest addition to my working schedule is planning for a national tour! Myself along with Kelly Breuer and Michaela Burger will be working hard over the coming months to organise a tour together, starting in Adelaide, working our way up the east coast, along the top and down through WA over 2 or 3 months. It's a massive job but we're super excited about the possibilities. So that's some of what's going on for me at the moment, as well as the usual stuff of playing gigs in Vic and SA (commuting a lot!), writing songs and trying to become a self-sustained independent musician! I look forward to sharing the journey with you. xx
