Lucian Grainge

If your In the Music Industry You Should Be Trying To Model yourself After "Lucian Grainge" Heres Why Grainge became the chairman of the UK division of the Universal Music Group and later became chairman of Universal Music Group International in 2005. He served in this position until 2010. On 1 January 2011 he became CEO of the Universal Music Group and later became chairman on 9 March 2011. He succeeded Doug Morris who served as chairman and CEO since 1995.[7] Grainge has been influential in Universal Music Group's international digital expansion by pioneering distribution models with a wide range of technology partners, including Apple, Spotify, BSkyB, Rdio, Virgin Media, Vodafone and 19 Entertainment.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14] He recently established the licensed music service, One-Stop China, with Baidu, as well as a deal with B'IN to break Taiwanese acts on the mainland.[15] There is also an agreement in place with Reliance to start India's first mobile music service.[16] Grainge also helped arrange the partnership between Bravado, Universal Music's entertainment merchandising division, and Tommy Hilfiger[17] and oversaw expansion for flagship classical labels Deutsche Grammophon and Decca Classics. He also put together the global strategic partnership with entertainment company Live Nation.[18] Within his first year as chairman & CEO of Universal, he led the company in acquiring EMI's Recorded Music operations.[19] In doing so he argued that selling to Universal was the only way to make EMI better and thus lift the entire industry.[20] He made the revitalisation of former EMI labels such as Capitol Records and Virgin Records a key part of his strategy.[21] As a result of the EMI acquisition, "Grainge will go down as the master architect of what is likely to be the last big deal in the music business."[20] In the EMI deal, UMG acquired the Beatles catalogue. UMG's merchandising division, Bravado, subsequently secured North American merchandising for the band.[22] UMG is now creating a "unified marketing strategy for the music and associated products of the most influential and beloved band in the history of music."[23] In 2013, Grainge partnered with Russell Simmons, Brian Robbins and Steve Rifkind to create All Def Music, the first major label-affiliated music company created specifically to sign, develop and promote artists on YouTube.[5] Russell Simmons called Grainge "the most innovative of music executives."[24] UMG partnered with Samsung in the spring of 2013 to launch a music service in Africa called the Kleek, featuring the company's international catalogue, as well as local artists.[4] Under Grainge's leadership, UMG has broken a string of records, becoming the first company in the US to have nine of the top 10 songs on the digital charts, according to SoundScan,[25] and weeks later, becoming the first company to hold all 10 of the top 10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[26] According to an industry insider, UMG's "enterprise value in 10 years stands to be closing in on $40 billion."....Now tell Me Why You Wouldnt use him as a Platform of Success....He Is This Industry

The Unestimated

"Never Estimate the Un estimated' for you have the slightest clue what you are getting yourself into. The un estimated is a new breed, a new contestant, and your potential downfall. It is better to befriend the Un estimated and put your own Estimate upon them, Gauge their actions and movements, calculate their steps so if they do become an opponent, they are defeated before they knew what hit them. Quick Question, have you ever noticed in a Boxing Match there's usually a guy getting pummeled, thrashed upon, beat to a pulp, and just when everybody loses hope, believes that he has lost and been defeated, to the point that the aggressor even loosens up puts his guard down, even starts to get cocky and celebrate a little. Then all Of a Sudden "BAM" Down Goes Frasier. The underdog has won the fight?...That's life for you, when your getting beat by something stronger, you have to defeat it mentally, let them think they are winning, let them get comfortable and put their guard down, let them work themselves down, and then you kindly help them to the floor...use that method and we all can be "Champions

Underestimated

when people doubt you and spit and kick you while your down in there minds they have defeated you and believe they are they best not realizing what goes up must come down and what fell down has no choice but to go up, that being said these people get comfortable creating soft spots in their "empire" and to pay attention to the underdog, all the while the underdog is healing, getting stronger, training, plotting its perfect chance to strike and when he does victory is bestowed upon him,,,,,,,"Dont Underestimate the Underestimated"
