* RECORD REVIEW * The Alex Beaird Band- Shine On This 11 trk. debut release comes from former Bull Mountain Revelry member Alex Beaird who, along with bassist Chas Watkins & drummer Justin Beaird comprise the recording trio known as the Alex Beaird Band. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Beaird has done himself justice with this effort. The recording/production, (Walker Bros. Studios/Bernie, Mo), is above average and the tunes are down right flavorful- all the things that make up rock-n-roll are in what this album is made of; jazz, blues, country, folk, americana. Its all here and each of these tracks will take you to those places. I love when you can do this kind of music and make it work- no shredding, no frills, no shrills, this is stripped down rock-n-roll meat & potatoes music bruthas & sistas!!! For me the tracks that really stand out are "Bourbon Hotel", "Born Under A Blue Sky" and "Hound Dog Moan". Good local talent showcasing itself here folks! My only gripe is that as a producer I may have changed the track lineup and squared it up a bit differently to make it more fluid and cohesive. Other than that...this is rock solid. Available March 10th for $10. Get one and thank me later

This Saturday we will be playing our first show(as a trio) at CJ's Bar and Grill in Diehlstadt, MO for a benefit for the Kenny Roger's Children Center. We are proud that we have the opportunity to contribute.
I was talking to a good friend of mine yesterday, and he said that he believed that as musicians, we have a gift; a talent that should be used for good. I could not agree more. I hope that some of you can join us Saturday.
Hello, everyone. I have been asked to open for 525 this Saturday at Schock's Pub in Scott City, MO. I am playing from 9-10, and 525 takes the stage from 10 until 1 am. I know that a lot of you won't be able to go, but I am still excited about playing. About 3 weeks ago I sit in with 3rd Wheel in Poplar Bluff for a set. It was the first time I had been on stage since last October. I felt great. I imagine that Saturday will feel even better, because I get to play my songs. Hope to see some of you there.
Our upcoming album, "Shine On" is being mastered right now. This should put the release date around mid-March. I am hoping to be able to release it on itunes before then. The album is a mixture of blues, rock, jazz, and even country. I think there is a song for everyone on it. I will keep everyone posted on the progress.
