Last night we landed the Mothership (a.k.a. Andy's 1998 chevy astro) in Martin's Ferry, OH, at the Steel Mill Bar & Grill for an outdoor show under the stars.
Soulbridge opened the night right with monster chops and powerful songs. What a cool band...we wanna rock with them again soon for sure.
We hit the stage with "Good Girl Sour" and didn't let up until the last whammy dive-bar note of "So I Don't Forget." It was a powerful set that included a newly written song called, "Take the Stage," and the epic riff-fest of "Doctrine." Cover songs aren't really our forte, however Zeppelin's "The Ocean" is an absolute blast to play--complete with an audience sing-a-long for the "la la laaaa's."
During our three dates in Ohio this week, we're staying at an amazingly beautiful horse farm (we promised the owners there would be no horse abductions) called the Moon Ridge Farm. The generosity of the owners is making the first few days of this tour seem like a vacation for sure.
OK, time to pack up and set the coordinates for Columbus tonight. Talk to yinz later.
Scrapin Rust off the tour ship...polishing strings, and eating railroad spikes. Neuro-twister is engaged, mother ship takes off 08-01-12 for the first landing site, Martin's Ferry, OH, USA, EARTH.
