10-20-14-My Morning Thoughts: “Grandfather Worries”

10-20-14-My Morning Thoughts: “Grandfather Worries” I got stiches next to my eye playing with my cousin David (two years old) I got stiches on my lip from playing hide-in-go-seek with my sister (two and half years old) I got stitches stepping into a French drain with my cousin Judy (three years old) I got stiches from falling off a slide (three years old) I got stiches playing with my sisters girl scout knife (3 years old) I got stiches tripping on a curb when I was leaving a store with a six pack of Pepsi for mom (four years old) I got stiches from playing with plastic swords with my cousin Joe (5 years old) I got stiches from wrestling with my friend Andy with pocket knives (6 years old) I got stiches playing with a utility knife (7 years old)…well anyway after second grade there were many many more!...however, I’m am still here and I am still somewhat sane and I am still somewhat good looking (depending on what day it is and who you talk too…LOL) and its totally crazy looking back at this…but the bottom line is things happen and we get over it and we move on frequently laughing while looking back…The thing is, when they do happen they are traumatic at the time and “that” part of it I could have lived without…but like I said, fear not because there will be some bumps along the way that nobody ever wishes for, and as a grandfather I will be there to protect from all of this because I’m wiser to how accidents happen and as you can see…I have some experience in knowing, what not to do!…plain and simple.

10-17-14-My Morning Thoughts: “In or Out”

10-17-14-My Morning Thoughts: “In or Out” I’m not sure but I don’t think you can be in and out and the same time…you’re either in…or you’re out!...Your either in fashion or your you out of fashion, you’re in trouble or your out of trouble, you’re in a good mood or you’re not…well you get the point. So I ask this basic question; are you “in” or “out”…I think I’m in, but I’m a little bias…LOL…either way, have a great weekend and be safe…plain and simple.

10-16-14-My Morning Thoughts: TBT

10-16-14-My Morning Thoughts: TBT It is so funny to think back when my dad and mom use to say things like; so and so has been friends with us for like 40 years! I use to think man are they old!!!...and now, I have friends for well over 40 years…so what does that tell ya…I’m right where they use to be and damn fortunate to be able say that now too!...LOL…so grateful for friends to be sure!...plain and simple.

10-14-14-My Morning Thoughts:

10-14-14-My Morning Thoughts: If you only had one slow dance left with that special one in your life…would there be a one special song to go with it?...right now I’m going with Carol Kings “You’ve Got a Friend”…plain and simple.

10-13-14-My Morning Thoughts:

10-13-14-My Morning Thoughts: Did you notice when the kids get out for recess these days they have all these cool playground jungle gyms and slides and swings and balance beams and just lots of cool stuff…we had a court yard and some beat up balls!...But we did have some great fun too because it was all we had and loved what we had, that’s for sure!...enjoy the days and cherish the memories…plain and simple.

10-09-14-My Morning Thoughts: Burp…

10-09-14-My Morning Thoughts: Burp… Why is it, when my granddaughter burps my wife (in this child-like voice) says, oh isn’t she so cute and precious…but when I do it…I have to duck extremely fast!...ha ha!!!...just enjoying the times…plain and simple.

10-08-14-My Morning Thoughts: “Old Saying”

10-08-14-My Morning Thoughts: “Old Saying” I use to hear this all the time; you can spoil meat but you can’t spoil children… and being truthful, I was never a fan of it while trying to raise our children…but now I have a granddaughter…and I like this saying so much more for some reason!...LOL…plain and simple.

10-07-14-My Morning Thoughts:

10-07-14-My Morning Thoughts: So I’ve been a grandpa for about two weeks now and so far this is so much easier than parenting! I can’t wait till she’s old enough so I can let her do things at our house that she can’t do at her house…LOL…I’m just kidding Jack & Alyssa…kind-a…plain and simple.

10-06-14-My Morning Thoughts:

10-06-14-My Morning Thoughts: There’s just something about a new baby that smells so good! And I think the best part is…it rubs off on you after you hold her…plain and simple.

10-03-14-My Morning Thoughts: “The Forts”

10-03-14-My Morning Thoughts: “The Forts” Did you guys take the blankets out and drape them over dining room chairs and end tables and create these wondrous worlds of your own? I use to make the best forts ever!...now the best blankets were my Great Aunt Sass’s homemade quilts cause they were big and heavy and they stayed right where ya put them. You didn’t have to weigh-em down that much with magazines, books and other things like lamps that would get pulled off and break sometimes. My Aunt Beanie’s house in PA (just down the hill from my Aunt Sass and a little across the way from my grandparents’ house) I once made the coolest fort ever…you see she had this really long house that kind-a had the living room and the dining room and then an attached bedroom all in a row, a fort builders heaven! I’m not exactly sure how long it was but I do remember a thanksgiving dinner there, that had my grandparents, parents, to aunts and uncles, their friend Chapy, and five cousins eating together at the table… anyway I proceeded to build this fort to beat all forts…thinking back, I ‘m pretty sure my big sister helped on this fort cause it was way to elaborate for my thinking…So this fort had the table covered for the big area underneath and then a six chair tunnel to the coffee table tunnel and hung-a-right at the end of the coffee table and went to the corner of this old peddle pumping organ and then extended into the extra room off the bed mattress on its side and stopped at the bathroom…we are talking a serious fort here!...I’m not so sure why these beautiful memories from the past continue to reunite with my present but you can be sure on one thing, that I will be teaching my grandchildren the art of house blanket fort building…and now I have my first customer, Kyliana Grace Insana!...and especially now because I won’t have to clean it up, ha ha!...great old times melding into new great times, can’t wait!…have a great safe weekend all…plain and simple.
