Kamando / Blog

Ozaliwa Article

It was an awesome youthful night, with lots of colour, sound and amazing performance by Kamando Sikazwe, Al B, Emma, and Tabitha just to mention a few, as the launch of a debut album “Holy Ghost Praise” was set alight for our ears. With family, friends and fans filling the Victory Life Centre main church auditorium, the night was about Holy Rolling filling the crowd. In as much as I would have expected more Zambians to fill the crowd, the night was amazing enough to encourage not only me, but the many people present to believe even more in the “it can be done” theory, just as God’s word says “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” ~ Matthew 20vs18. And indeed He was.Girls, Boys, Youth and a mature folk supported the event bringing together something different, for not only the youth to experience but for parents to tap into as the world grows to bring forth different characters, music and sound for those that will come after us. It was a moment that saw the word of God shared on a different level, filled with nothing but good Hip Hop. Several people took freelance dance, rap and stomp to the floor with God in mind, in speech and in a new way of living for the growing youth. The night started with guest performers and curtain raisers calling a crowd off their seats with some engaged in dance before the MC brought it to the floor with a dance or rap for CD try out, and the main show being lit up finally by the one an only Kamando Sikazwe who performed all his numbers from the album debut album HGP. Though there was a minor setback on a track after a technical break, there was just the best sound and rap filling the room as he band played live beats that brought the wall’s down bringing out “unashamed” on a whole new level of praise. The album is available for purchase online or at the Victory Life Centre Bookshop, on 1 Neil Street, Osborne Park. WA 6017. Perth.
