Three Simple Rules / Blog

Schedule

3*SR will be out of commision until June 1st, as JES will be out of town. But June 1st we will be back at 3 Brother's on the square in Murfreesboro. Then, we will be out of commission the first weekend in July as JES, once again, will be out of town. She's a popular gal. June should be a busy month for us. We are working hard on finishing up our CD so we can get it to mastering. We also have a TV appearance coming up on "The Chico and Bman Show" on Nashville cable access 19. Keep looking here for details and updates.

A Girl Named Lulu...

I made the statement that there were 3 things required to experience the perfect show. 1) Confidence. You must approach the performance as if you understand it's importance and as if you are aware of every note and have practiced them all with vigar. 2) You must own the stage. It doesn't matter where you play as long as when you step on the stage at least that portion of the building belongs to YOU! and... 3) You gotta know Lulu. We played Lulu's in Watertown again on the 11th of May. There is a group of people who make up the staff and after two shows there I recognize a group of people who must make up the regulars. These people and this place is why I will perform from now on. I will strive to replicate the show we had on May 11th from now on. I honestly don't understand how it could possibly have gone any better than it did. Thanks Lulu's, and thanks to everyone who showed up there on 5/11/13. I wish I had a nickle for each time we have mentioned each person by description to each other because we didn't know names, but we have talked about all of you with fond recollection. We will be back to Lulu's, even if we play on the sidewalk we will be back to Lulu's. Oh, but wait, I forgot... WE OWN THEIR STAGE!!! Wendell loves Jill, Jill loves Wendell, they both love JES and she loves them, but Three Simple Rules LOVES LULU'S in Watertown!!!

#11 WOW!!! Thanks people!

We have been around for a couple of years and we only did this to have a little fun, but our numbers of likes, both here and on Fb continue to go up. Thanks to you folks at Reverb Nation and to all of you guys out there who liked us our rating has gone up also. We hit #11 today. I know we won't stay there, but the fact that so many of you have followed us and liked us just turns us own. Guess what. More new originals coming!!!!!! If we haven't said it rescently, "We sure love you guys!" from the couple next door to our fans in Europe. Thanks!!!

Lulu's 3/30/13, who knew?

Holy catshit, Ratman! I'm just gonna tell it like it is. Last night we played a very small dinner or I think they call it a deli, in Watertown, TN. It is called Lulu's and after only 1 trip to Lulu's it has become one of our favorite places to play. They made the statement that they didn't know what to expect when they booked us. Well, the feeling was mutual. We didin't quite know what we were getting into when we booked Lulu's. We only knew we wanted to go and give them our best and make a show out of it. From the drop of the dime we were off and running. The show felt good. The crowd was perfect. The reception was heart warming. The after show meet and greet was sooooooo much fun. Gabrielle (sorry about the spelling) was the consumate hostess and her family made us feel right at home. I know 2 things. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to do a small show, Lulu's is your place. Second, we play back at Lulu's in May and May can't come soon enough. Thanks Lulu's. Three Simple Rules had a blast last night.

3 Brother's 3/15/13

My goodness, my goodness! Folks, I had a great time last night! Now I know that most of the people that see this won't care, but this post is for those of you who do, and those of you who are 3*SR fans. We played 3 Brother's last night in their new location on N. Church St. on the east side of the public square in the Boro. First, as a group, we would like to thank Eric for being so hospitable to us, then Shannon for booking us. After that we want to thank our fans for the support they showed last night. We had fans there all night long. Some came in knowing we were there and stayed all night. Some came in not knowing who we were and stayed all night, leaving as fans. The bar looks awesome, the service was awesome the Reuben was the bomb, the sound system was great. Thanks to you all. Thanks to everyone. Thanks to those who just couldn't stick around as it made seats for those who wanted to. Great show Jill! Great show Jes! Hey, Let's do it again. Maybe on the 30th at Lulu's in Watertown? Thanks 3 Brother's, 3*SR loves you guys.

Updating... does that mean dating out of your league?

Want everyone to take a minute and look at our reverbnation page. There are some new updates for all of our fans and for some of those who don't like us as well. First of all the song "What's A Girl To Do?" is still available for a free download. Next all the rest of our songs are available now for $1.29 each. Now keep in mind that 50% of that goes to Heifer International to help stomp out hunger and homelessness. The next update is the new free mobile app that is available on the reverbnation website. As of now there is a really cool mobile "android" app. The "apple" app will be ready and installed soon. You can enter your E-mail address to get a notification. Jill and I sat in the den last night playing with the android version of the app and it is really cool. It's everything 3*SR...except the real 3*SR, but it will tell you where you can find us "LIVE"!!!!!

So are we back, or ...what...

Thanks for being patient with us. It would appear that the flu bug has been squashed. Our appologies to Shannon and 3 Brother's for having to cancel, but we have not been idle. We have a new show worked up and we will be playing out again this Saturday. It is a private party in Nashville. Sorry it ain't open to the public, but at least we are back out there and we appreciate you guys hanging with us.

UUuuugggghhhhh!

Just wanted to let everyone know that due to unforseen circumstances, Three Simple Rules will not be at 3 Brother's Friday 18th of January, as advertised. Our appologies to our fans and to 3 Brother's staff and management. The flu virus has overtaken us. Especially in Jes' household, as it took over on top of strepp throat. Everyone has been to the doctor, with Jill going today. Once again we are sorry, but it is unexpected and not how we wanted to start things off.

Back At It!

As many of you may know last year in July we lost my Mom and G-mom. Right after that Jill went down after back surgery. Through it all we have been plagued with first one thing then another. Through it all God has blessed us in so many uncountable ways. This is to let everyone know that 2013 will be our year. We may not become famous, but 3SR is still around and will be making ground this year. If there is anything you need musically let us know. We are strong again although we are still healing and we are ready to kick the new year off right. Our first show of 2013 will be Friday the 18th of January at 3 Brothers Deli in Murfreesboro. Don't miss it. We look forward to singing for YOU!

Hello, Goodbye...

First of all, we want to thank everyone who came out to 3 Brother's on a weird enough Friday 13th. It was nice to see a full house inside cause there was some serious Fri.13th shit going on outside. The cops must have hauled 20-25 folks from the bar across the street to jail throughout the evening. Thanks to Shannon for having us out again and again and again. Next, I would like to thank my family and my close friends for rallying together and making the deaths and funerals of my mother and my grandmother more barable. You never know how strong you are until you need to be strong. It was a trip to watch my own daughter be stronger than I ever knew she could be as she handled the arrangments and the insurance crap that goes along with this kind of thing. My brother, who was the main ( and sometimes only) care giver for both of them for the last 3 years was a rock and a half. The people who made it easier for us as a family were Chuck and Thomas from Woodfin's. Thanks for everthing you guys did and for the photo opportunity. It sure was good to see you guys at 3 Brother's. Now with all of that out of the way and the time being perfect for us to dive back into our music, Jill is settling into a mind frame for surgery. She is scheduled for back surgery on the 24th to repare 2 ruptured disc (L4 & L5) in her back. It is time! and she is looking forward to the relief it will bring. So, for the next few weeks think of us and remember her in your prayers. We may be down, but we are not out. See you soon better than ever.
