Changing Courses

The latter half of 2012 has been a time of tough decisions and challenges for me. In September I made a move to reunite with Jamie Eubanks and James Lewis to form The Jamie Eubanks Band. It is a direction that presents us with great opportunity, which was quickly realized by winning the International Blues Challenge of the Northwest Florida Blues Society, claiming us a trip to Memphis to compete in the big contest. It was a hard decision to make for many reasons. But The Flood continues on, with a new bassist and an amazing debut EP that you can listen to and buy on my site. Sabal has dissolved, but finishing touches are being made on the self-titled full-length album and will be released in early 2013. I am currently on the last leg of a year-long accelerated nursing program, just trying to keep my head above water to finish that, as booking for The Jamie Eubanks Band begins to pick up. I face many challenges after I graduate, but I am assured that music will always be my first priority. Stay tuned.

General Updates

Sabal is working on our final takes for the studio album soon to be released. We have been devoting time into finishing the album before booking more gigs, but be sure to catch us at Southern Music Rising in Monticello on April 21. The Flood has three tracks finalized and is planning to record 3 more tracks for the EP. We are hoping to have that released by July. The Flood is actively booking and has many shows coming up in April. I have been booked for the songwriter's showcase at The Mockingbird for June 11 and I plan to play 3 brand new songs. Lots of music activity along with full-time nursing school! Can't say I'm bored.

Recording Session

I just completed a two-day recording session with Sabal for our first album. There will be one more day of recording next week, and after that all of my bass tracks will be laid down. I will leave the rest to them while I face the hell of the accelerated nursing program for the next coming months. Nonetheless, this album should be coming out soon, and I am very excited about the final product.
