This is the last line from an email sent by Ben to Ian and me on August 20, 2011, two days after our last band played our last show at Club Metro in Chicago. Stan flew in from RI for the show, and sat next to me at the computer reading the email.
Ben sent out the earliest demo versions of “All The Lights Go Out At Once”, “In The Floods”, and “Arc Eye” from one of Polarizer’s first rehearsals. While the songs weren’t nearly finished, all of us in the band (that hadn’t even been named yet) knew we had something, and it would only be a matter of time until everything came together and the thought of playing on the Metro stage again wasn’t such a long shot.
Since Ben sent that email out, Polarizer has formed, written a collection of songs, played a handful of shows in the Chicago area, began recording our first album, and toured on the way to performing during SXSW in Austin.
Now we are back in Chicago and preparing for our first big show as a band.
Polarizer will be playing Metro on Friday, May 18 2012 alongside our great friends Amrita and Model Stranger. The Ivory Theory will also be performing.
