Not Scared

We prepare to do battle against the forces of darkness. Our weapons are music, the beat, and words from the heart of hammer philosophy. Keep listening. It's going to get a lot more interesting soon.

Natural World

Refrigerators and microwaves Have replaced the hearth in our homes. We’ve got air conditioned houses and cars And those Ad-nauseum domes. We no longer tell each other Those old, old stories about the stars. We are mesmerized by our computers Or we drive around in our cars.

I’m just so glad that I found a girl Who reminded me I belong to the Natural World.

Is it a technological nightmare Or a technological dream come true? When the phases of the moon Go unseen by me and you. Put your bare feet in the garden Feel the night breeze on your skin. Let’s stay outside all night tonight, darling, Till the day comes rolling in.

I’m just so glad that I found a girl Who reminded me I belong to the Natural World.

Flying Machine

Way down Waves upon waves Of trees And seas That bright blue and green. Up here I’m rolling around with the breeze In my Flying Machine.

Stars fall Day turns to nighttime And dark peace Rounds out the scene. Way down My planet is turning I sleep high In my Flying Machine.

Feeling So Good About the World

Feeling So Good About the World

‘cause I’m Feeling So Good About the World Feeling So Good About the World we’re living in. Feeling So Good About the World ‘cause I’m in love with you.

I know there’s problems. I know that terror stalks the land. Maybe we’ll solve them. Maybe things will get really out of hand.

In this hour of darkness, Everywhere I look, a fire burns. In this time of trouble, I know why nobody ever learns.

I know there’s problems. But I know that sweet love is here to stay. Maybe we’ll solve them. One by one by one Day by day.

So I’m Feeling So Good About the World Feeling So Good About the World we’re living in. Feeling So Good About the World ‘cause I’m in love with you. Oh, baby, I’m in love with you Oh, baby, I’m in love with you.

The Dark Things

I went down to where the dark things grow. Where no one still faithful ever goes. Where thunder runs deep. And water sleeps. A helpless wind blows. A helpless wind blows.

X marks the spot Beyond this, even light bends. Here, there is no chill When cold blood spills, And nothing ever mends, Nothing ever mends.

I’m not sure what happened, but I think I know. I went down to where the dark things grow. I crossed over the line. I drank their wine. And I lay me down below. I lay me down below.

Spraypaint

Gonna spraypaint my love to you, baby. That’s the best I can do. Gonna write it on the walls. I love you. Gonna spraypaint my love to you, baby. That’s the best I can do. Gonna write it on the walls. Wanna make love to you.

Looking out of my window. Fire rains down from the sky. Looks like the city’s all aglow But I don’t know why. You know, it’s days like these, ese, When the end is drawing near. Gotta make some memories, Gonna say it loud and clear.

Gonna spraypaint my love to you, baby. That’s the best I can do. Gonna write it on the walls. I love you. Gonna spraypaint my love to you, baby. That’s the best I can do. Gonna write it on the walls. Wanna make love to you.

I’m a disconnected lover. I look, but cannot touch. We walk right past each other, And I want you so much. Now the whole world’s growing dark. The good times have all past. I’m gonna have to light a spark, Gonna make something that lasts.

Gonna spraypaint my love to you, baby. That’s the best I can do.

Bruja-ja

Upside-down Money

Looking at the world, ‘cause I’m getting wise Looking at the world through coke and bottle popping eyes Looking out for something new under the sun And upside-down money is better than none.

Looking at the world as it’s going by Moving faster than the blink of an eye Looking at this world through the barrel of a gun Upside-down money is better than none.

Weh - heh - hell, I’m not so sure about the way things oughta be and I’m not so sure that I even see those things I see Everything’s loosened. Some things have gotten free. Upside-down money is allright with me.

I’ve searched the world for news, clues, and adventure Through paper palaces of trinkets and treasure Looking at this world beyond redemption Where upside-down money is better than none.

Upside-down money is better than none.

The Inevitable Delays

I was standing on the corner By the music hall later that day. It was raining just a little bit, and it looked like it was going to stay that way. I couldn’t wait to get in. I was ready to get searched and pay. You were somewhere in the rainy weather held up by some inevitable delay.

We have never been together, but we sure had all those years to waste. Now we’re finally face to face With all those dreams that we’ve chased. Now we’re sitting in the bathtub naked and singing Amazing Grace. Better late than never, remember, there are always inevitable delays.

Don’t try to misunderstand me, You’ll only misunderstand me anyway. You’re only hearing what you’re thinking, You’re not listening to a single word I say. Sometimes things take a turn for the worst, but not always. Sometimes, things get better, eventually, and in spite of, inevitable delays.

Maybe I Was an Apostle

I often have thought about the kind of men that the apostles were - you know, the salt of the earth.

Jesus picked these guys seemingly at random, just twelve guys that happened to be around and got pulled in.

Simon, the first pope, was married and there were always women around.

So, I imagined myself as one of the more obscure Apostles, and my beloved as one of the women that followed Jesus.

That fantasy got all mixed up with my black motorcycle fantasy.

All of sudden, the Apostles were a motorcycle "club" and being from South Texas, they ride through the barrio at sunrise.

Reincarnation, the future, the church, motorcycles, barrio love, signs up in Spanish, gasoline mixes with bread and wine and blood.
