We are only a few weeks away from our trip to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge!!! Wish us luck and come out to our gigs in January as we continue to raise funds for the journey.
We've changed our showtime to 9pm at Third Street Diner and the change has worked out - we saw some new faces in our enthusiastic crowd. One couple was in town from VA Beach and stopped in to enjoy our show. The addition of Mara on keyboards and Mary on trumpet has added some extra spice to the mix. Chaz stepped from behind the drums to do a rousing rendition of "The Things I Used to Do". Michael Burgess wowed the crowd with his awesome guitar licks. Andrew Alli made us feel those blues on his harmonica. Thanks to Jim for stepping in on bass. Same time, same place next week. Thanks to those near and far who came out on Saturday.
Last Night’s Blues Band had a lively show Saturday night (9/3). The crowd went from moving in their chairs to moving tables aside and dancing the night away. One couple was in town from Leesburg for the weekend and came to check out the band after seeing the show advertised on the Richmond Times Dispatch website. They were the first to break the ice and start the dance party. The venue is great – there are 2 balconies with seating in addition to the tables inside. Prints of great blues artists grace the walls and friendly waitresses serve up drinks and food as you enjoy the music. Where else can you find great blues music in Richmond on a Saturday night? One patron remarked that it reminded him of music clubs in Atlanta. For those who haven’t visited yet, put it on your calendar. 11 PM Saturdays at 3rd Street Diner, 218 E Main Street.
