Freudian/Lacanian psychology is a technique for drawing distinctions between the abstract and the real, what we take for granted as fixed truths in the material universe are collected and mutually reinforced cultural illusions and idiosyncratic fantasies which prove to be, and in spite of our higher cognitions and reflections, no more than symbolic relations. And of the literal truths that are barely glimpsed by our greatest exceptions we reject as ‘abstraction’ , the significance of which seems wholly irrelevant to us in our innocent state of unified delusion. But to find a path from error to truth we need to confront and articulate this disparity between perception and the obscure phantasm of truth that will smash our paradigms into a raw mix of higher order material from which to build new systems of thought.
