Good Vibes with Donna Jean Godchaux

On Friday evening at Gathering of the Vibes, Assembly of Dust received a very special visit from Donna Jean Godchaux of the Grateful Dead. Donna took the stage to sing with the band on AOD's own "Honest Hour" as well as Loretta Lynn's classic "You Ain't Woman Enough". Says Reid:

"I have been a fan of the Grateful Dead for as long as I can remember. To have Donna sit in with us was in someways the realization of a teenage daydream. And to have her sing one of our songs was truly an honor."

Big thanks to Rob Clarke for taping and posting AOD's Vibes set on Archive.org! You can download and stream the entire show for free, just go here: http://www.archive.org/details/aod2008-08-01.SBkm184Matrix.flac16

Tea & Dust In The Windy City

On August 22, Assembly of Dust will link up with Tea Leaf Green for an exciting double bill at the Park West in Chicago. The two like-minded "rock bands that jam" will meet in between TLG's native San Francisco and AOD's home base in New England for a very promising evening in the Windy City. Who knows what collaborations might be afoot? (Though should it happen, we humbly suggest something from the J.R. Robertson canon). We'll see all you beautiful Chicagoans at the Park West on August 22.

AOD Summer Slate

Summer means being outdoors, enjoying the fresh air, and for many of us, hitting as many festivals as we can. Assembly of Dust will be making a handful of festival appearances this summer, beginning with a date at the Lowell Summer Music Series in Massachusetts on July 5. The band then heads to the McCall Summer Music Festival in Idaho on July 19 before returning once again to the Gathering of the Vibes on August 1.

From there they will swing down to Woodstock City Park in Georgia on August 2 before going all the way up to Maine for the Up North Music Festival on August 10. Finally, the band will make a September 6 stop at the always lovely Backwoods Pondfest in upstate New York. Hope to see you along the way!
