We're back from hols and raring to go now. Back to rehearsals, gigs, writing and soon recording new material which is always an exciting time. A week spent exploring the beautiful Dorset coast walking Sam (the jack russell terrier) and enjoying some fine dining, both out and home-cooked has refilled the old gas tanks and left us full of creative juices once more!!! Just obtaining the last few bits of electronic wizardry to revive my ailing studio and all will be right with the world once more. Keep a close, weather eye out for a distant and eerie shape making its way towards you soon...it may just be something new and mysterious from QSG!!!!
Our friend and guitarist Andy has just returned from his overseas business trips so with a favourable wind QSG will get back to some serious rehearsing in the very near future. We can't wait to get down to it and are also very close to announcing some new dates for QSG live shows. Ian is getting ever nearer to upgrading his studio with a new mac and some software goodies which mean we can get back to recording our new material. All the latest stuff is sounding groovy already so can't wait to get our teeth into it properly. Been listening to some great music of late on reverb nation. There are so many talented artists out there and we feel priviledge to be part of this online community of music lover qsg xxx
QSG have been busy of late looking into new equipment and ideas for our live shows. Got a few decent gigs in the pipeline and will let you know when the dates are confirmed. We've been using mainly 12 string acoustic, tenor guitar and cahon so far but a recent performance where Ian just took along a dobro has inspired us to do more of the same. Ralph's mandolin was also rather gentle on the ear and surely is a must for subsequent live shows. Been soooo busy that getting the extra members of the band in a room at the same time for full band rehearsals has been difficult of late but will all calm down soon and then we can make an even bigger sound. Watch this space for news and live dates coming real soon qsg xxx
Hi and welcome to our reverbnation site. To foloow our main blog visit www.quietlyspoken.co.uk as reverbnation doesn't want to link to it. We're new here and having fun getting to know people and how it all works. Great site for budding musos this and there's so much good music on here too. We have been flying up the reverbnation charts in the few days since we joined and hope this trend continues so with your support by becoming a fan on the page, listening to our streamable tracks and who knows maybe even buying a CD we can go all the way. Please tell all your friends as we really want to get to the top of folkies in our area!
Equally exciting is the fact that Ghost Song has been uploaded to itunes now so once the processing is done (hopefully a week or so) you can find, preview and buy our stuff straight from there!!!
There are also a couple of gigs in the pipeline so we will confirm them here, there and everywhere when the dates are set. We're also making enquiries about interest in the area for an East Grinstead folk club as we feel the town could use a place for the local acoustic folkies to strut their stuff once a fortnight or so. If you know of a venue or would be interested in coming along to perform yourself or simply support it by drinking beer and listening to live music then let us know. This is a project we'd dearly love to take off so it just needs a few more enthusiasts and we'll start to arrange things.
Here's to exciting things to come in the land of QSG over the coming months.
