Hey all friends, Jimmy Norberg, founder of Outshine here. 2 months ago the band took a break to be able to reflect over the overall direction of the band. The set-up for workload and economy in between band members had been very much off-balance for more or less the last 3 years, with the recording of the 3rd album with our prior singer being the starting point of things going wrong.
I really love writing and performing the music and build on the concept that Outshine is all about, that´s why I started the band from the beginning. I´m truly grateful what Outshine has been able to accomplish over the years with 6 US tours, +150 shows in Scandinavia and Europe, 3 full length CD releases and meeting so many great people and bands all over the world.
Unfortunately we don´t have the same view (or have had the same view the last 3 years with prior members) within the band on what it takes to accomplish all above. It´s sad but sometimes it doesn't work, people have different opinions on how things should work and that is OK. So in order for Outshine to evolve and to be able to continue, a change of the whole set-up is needed.
Am I a grumpy, stubborn old man? Probably. Am I almost insanely dedicated to Outshine? Yep. Is it always the healthy way to go? Not really.
But Outshine as a concept and all you fans and friends that has believed in the band for years, is truly what makes me keep on working, trying to get better and never give up despite all things that happen along the way.
Me and lead singer Micke Holm is starting fresh now, Outshine is going to be a 2-piece band with friends helping out on upcoming live shows. A new video will be released within a few weeks and we´re going into the studio in early 2014 to record, what we believe, some of the best music that has ever been written within Outshine. Back to the roots, heavier and darker then ever.
Hope to see you on upcoming tours and shows during 2014, going to be one hell of a year.

“The addition of a new singer, with a darker and heavier approach to the Outshine songs and vibe, has taken the band to the next level. The sound is more back to the roots of Outshine with Gothic Metal influences, and a darker and grittier sound of the band and the album is really coming out great.”

Thanx all for coming out to the Gothenburg/Sticky Fingers show, we had great fun! Our new not yet titled album are now in the studio-mixing process and we will release a single in late January. The US-tour is also coming together (March-April 2013), along with some dates in Sweden as well. Stay tuned and horns up friends! //Outshine
After spending the rainy 2012-summer arranging try-outs and working on a new vibe (yes, on the edge of sanity), Outshine finalized the auditions in late September. "We split ways with our last singer in June 2012 due to internal issues and disagreement on what Outshine should sound and do in the future."
Finally the chosen one was metal singer Micke Holm from ex-Stagedoor, a guy that brings in a dirtier and more evil vibe to the new version of Outshine.
“We instantly felt this could bring in the elements that we have lacked in Outshine. Mike has a great, dark, heavy voice and a killer approach on how he sings the material. The old sound before our last singer, is somewhat back and that is awesome. The missing link to make Outshine complete; darker, heavier and grittier… is found.”
The band will hit the road again with shows in Sweden during Dec - March to support the new single release due in January 2013 through Dead Tree Music / Rambo Music. An album release in late February 2013 is in the planning and the band will go for a new US tour in March - April 2013.
Shows: Sat December 1st - Italia, Lidköping Fri December 14th - Kajskjulet, Halmstad Fri December 21st - Sticky Fingers, Göteborg March/April 2013 - WI, IL, MI, IN - US tour
