Back in the Desert!

Hi, everybody! I returned to my home in southern Arizona on the Gila River Indian Community the first week of October. It sure is good to be home, but getting my gig schedule built up has been a challenge. It seems that most of the venues I played before are booked up already through the end of the year, but I'm looking forward to putting together a full schedule starting January. I'm also doing some traveling, performing in Ruidoso, NM at Farley's and in Mescalero, NM at the Inn of the Mountain Gods lounge. I'm also scheduling some trips to the Hill Country of Texas, playing in Fredericksburg and Stonewall at some great venues there, like Silver Creek, Lincoln Street Wine Market, Pedernales Winery and Woodrose Winery. I love the Hill Country, not just the lay of the land but mostly the great family of musicians that's there. I've been doing some writing, too. Working on new music is what I love. I'm submitting songs to Rex Benson, who is an icon in the country music field. Hopefully I'll get a song cut or placed in a movie or TV show. Flying solo now, performing and living as a single artist. Life hits us with changes, and this recent change was my choice. It's been bumpy, but I brought the bumps on myself so no sense griping about it. Thank God for His grace and the help of great friends. Check out my Facebook page, Twitter and right here on ReverbNation. I greatly appreciate all my fans and friends, and love to see you when you come to a gig. My schedule is posted here, so check it out and make plans to join me at a gig. It really helps me and all other live musicians to have friends and fans come to a gig, get something to eat and drink and support the venue owner/manager who hired us. If they see we're contributing to their business, they'll keep hiring us for gigs, so I encourage you to get out and support live music venues whenever you can. Blessings to all. See you at a gig somewhere!

Thankful

We've been working five nights a week during the month of May, and our June schedule is nearly full! We are so blessed by God to have such a full calendar. God always blesses His children who are faithful. We're Christians, and are careful to honor God in as many areas as possible, including our finances. I won't go into detail, but suffice it to say that we love giving back to God, and in return He remains faithful to us. This is an important part of our business financial management. If you're a working musician, I want to encourage you to develop your personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, and then be faithful to His Word. He will show His favor in your behalf, and the great blessings of peace and provision will flow. Blessings!

Full Time Musician

In these hard financial times, some have told me that I'm crazy to go full time as a musician. See, I was working a day job for the last two years, then quit to do music full time. I treat it as a business, so I consider it my job. It has been challenging, but not too hard. I've got a lot more time now to work on music - learning new covers and writing new songs, and hope to create demos in my home studio. But, it is challenging. I believe that anyone can do anything. I know that we can make it doing this, we just need to learn to manage time, resources and money intelligently, and not go crazy when we get a big payday. I believe that I'll get songs cut by major artists, and that will provide the finances I'll need to continue. I trust in God and in the talents He's given me, and I determine to succeed.
