PLAYING IN PALM SPRINGS

I have been invited to perform in Palm Springs California November 5th for the annual " Jam On The Rocks " along wit some mighty fine music artists from Vancouver Canada all the way down the West Coast! What an honor !

Ranked Number One!

It's nice to see that and at least get a little feedback from viewers and listeners out there. These are regional rankings of course but every little bit is encouraging. Thank you for helping us. Lately I have been producing a lot of new music. Hope you got to see/ hear the new video CROSSING THE BRIDGES

Making Music Better than Ever

I just returned from a " mini-tour " of private shows in British Columbia last week. No matter the size of the audience it's important to do my best and strive to be better with each note. Coming up this weekend I play a biker fest in Western Washington and I'm actually a " hired gun" as they say - playing lead guitar in a Country group called " Hillbilly Tendencies ". On September 4th my own band and I will be appearing at a major cruise-in event Car Show. Variety and just good music and great people to play for!

I'm Still Standing !

Music fans and friends, even though the sun isn't shining much where I live the warmth of music and music events coming back is soothing my soul! I have been writing a lot and have been enjoying the company of my first ever Pro Tools software system student. He has operated a 24 track studio for thirty years and brings with him enthusiasm and vast experience.

In April I was elected to serve on the board of directors for the South Sound Blues Association in Washington State. Doing whatever I can to play, write, teach and keep the music ALIVE!

WHAT A 24 MONTHS THIS HAS BEEN!

Each of the members of the Bruce Maier Band / Healers has kept as busy as possible during the lock-down and recovery of covid-19 as it has all but crippled the entire industry worldwide. However I ( Bruce M ) have continued on producing an all-acoustic show for the past few months and have been guitarist for the blues band " Sweet Bay Blues Band " of Olympia Washington. That band won the state regional competition in SW Washington and went on to compete in Seattle on Sunday the 24th. Now considered one of the top 4 bands in the northwest the SBBB will continue on doing various shows through next year when they compete once again for the big prize of being sent to Memphis for the IBC main event. Grateful for the opportunity I have had with the other band I am fortunate to be recognized for this genre even though I've always said those are big shoes to fill. The Bruce Maier band / Healers show has some bookings coming up through the end of the year, mainly private events. I am fortunate to play in several bands, especially in these challenging times. Next week I will be playing in yet another Blues show every Wednesday in Centralia Washington. Sometimes just getting out to a good jam is a great way to get re-inspired and see old friends, make new ones !

THE HEALERS?

As of February 2020 the band has become a trio performing more original music than ever before. Playing music for us is personal therapy but we know that people feel the love we send out through our music and they too receive a " healing ". Bruce and brother-friend Michael Lacey on drums, vocals , percussion and harmonicas have been close buddies since they were seventeen. Bobby Connors on Bass ad vocals joined the band about seven years ago and came from Boston Massachusetts as a full-time funk band leader and lead singer. The guys in the band have a lot of fun making music but they also love to hang out together like brothers! Bruce Maier and the Healers is born!

Happy New Year!

I just played the Chehalis Eagles Aerie 1550 for NYE with my group and it was out third welcome such show for them in a row. Tonight I will be performing solo at the newest venue in our town called King Street Cove which is at 220 S. King Street, Centralia Washington. Each Thursday we have what's called " Words & Music " where you will hear good acoustic music and meet local talented artists and poets. Beverages are available as the venue is licensed as a theater serving food , beer and wine. It's a great place for me to perform my original music and so many great singers and musicians are starting to find it now and coming in to sign up and get onto our stage.

New Song Release!

We are excited to release the newest Bruce Maier song called " Thinking Out Loud " . Penned a few years before Mr Sheeran's song by the same title is light years away from the subject matter of the former. This song is about people of the world coming together to join hands and get things done for the betterment of our people and our planet. Spread the song, the message and the peace& love!

As we move into Fall

Recently we played a huge outdoor show on Labor Day 2018 in Olympia Washington at Pioneer Park. People showed up to see us from all over the western USA and Canada. It was great show and we will be back labor day 2019!

ROCK IT

ROCK IT - The David Shriver Tribute film & song is now available for the first time here on Reverb Nation. The film itself was written, directed and produced by Bruce J Maier and has been played at limited theater engagements. The owner is considering all options for the film including more theater showings followed by a LIVE music show by the Bruce Maier Band and also Amazon streaming and Public Television. Thank you for taking an interest in the Bruce Maier Band and this amazing tribute to our friend David Shriver, who at a young age was a Pop star Bass player for Eddie Cochran and later Trini Lopez. He traveled the world 46 times with Lopez and co-billed all throughout Europe with The Beatles in those early days. In fact he was a fishing buddy with Ringo! Dave moved to Lewis County Washington in the late 1970's and bought a farm and several businesses including a theater and bicycle shop. He was an active member of the Bruce Maier Band from 2007 until his untimely passing in 2012. David and Bruce met in 1982, playing in a Country-Rock show-band together with Clayton Watson, another NW legend and recording artist from the fifties and sixties.
