Genre Breakers

As a songwriter, I've been struggling for the past few years to do what record labels and disc jockeys everywhere like to hear: place myself within a genre. Why? Because if you're like me and you've grown up with so many different musical voices in your head (schizophonia?) that you actually feel at home with, it feels like a lie to try and chalk it up to the "R&B" or "Jazz" label. As an artist, I find myself writing from any genre that I can think of, because I think it's silly to limit oneself to the rules of what people think that you can write. If I can writing a convincing heartfelt country song, and turn around in the next breath and write an awesome hip-hop song, the only thing stopping me from success is the perception that others have of me. I'd like to thank every fan I've got, from my cousins to my neighbor's grandmother, for accepting me the way that I am. I am a person who creates, and the world around me has accepted me, the commercial world is a little less clear and how this will all go down. It's okay, just another day in the life of Olivia K.

Welcome to My Life

I'm an artist who's passionate about self-regeneration. What do I mean by that? I mean that each and every one of us has the potential to be anything we want to be, and anything new today. So join me on my journey!
