David Layton - Guitarist / Blog

Warwick Avenue

Just up: my adaptation of Hogarth, White, and Duffy's masterpiece. Hope you and they will like it!

Stu "Bear" Beitler - Listen to Him!

There's an artist on RN that I've just discovered. His song "Rings In Her Hair" is one of the best things I've heard in a long, long time. Check it out and spread the word. The song is wonderful.

All Tracks Downloadable!

In the spirit of the internet and the new music industry, all my tracks are currently available for free download. Major artists are welcome to do covers and pay me huge royalties everafter!

Goodbye Gary!

As a tribute to my favourite guitarist, Gary Moore, I offer my version of Gary's hit, Don't Believe A Word. Gary, you were the best and we'll miss ya!

Bones Martyn Band - Check 'Em Out

Many thanks to Bones Martyn for his staunch support and for laying down a bass line on a new version of Floating Bridge (to be uploaded when space permits). He's a credit to the spirit of ReverbNation (and his band sound like a groovier version of Motorhead!). Thanks mate!

Recording & Such

Everything you hear on this site of mine was recorded in my bedroom, alone, using a BOSS Micro BR recorder and its integral modelling software and condenser microphone. No external amps, effects or other devices were used. I think the BOSS is a great little machine, and it has allowed me single-handedly to inflict my music on the world. You lucky people, you!

Covers and collaborations

I loved the Henry Mancini-penned theme tune from the Inspector Clouseau film, A Shot In The Dark with Peter Sellers (Shadows of Paris), but always thought Gary Moore should have done it. As Gary is no longer with us, I’ve had a shot at it myself (if you’ll forgive the pun). I suppose you could call it a pastiche of Gary’s style. I’ve altered it a bit too. Hope you like it!
