Thank you & MERRY CHRISTMAS Apologies from here! I sent a 'Merry Christmas' email and it went out as 'werewolves'' instead! I am so upset. I have never posted anything or emailed anything about werewolves! Yet it supplanted my Christmas message & it appeared on my dashboard as my UPDATE instead of 'Merry Christmas' It makes me feel awful. Someone has hacked my RN software. ''Comments' and 'messages' and 'fans' can't even be accessed from my dashboard. I'm sure I have new messages etc. today and can't answer! And my 'Merry Christmas ' was sabotaged into 'werewolves'. I opened 'fans' from my profile, and there's not a single fan new today, which just never happens. So I believe my material is all being blocked, hi-jacked or whatever! And I suspect it's been happening for some time because my comments and messages are sometimes appearing 2 days late! & of course I have no way of knowing what is not arriving at all, My dashboard is corrupted! I wanted to answer old messages and cannot access them. Can't thank anyone or say 'Merry Christmas'. I had observed a hacker and sent a note to RN support 2-3 days ago. He was sending me messages in my RN page asking me to listen or watch something, that would vanish when I opened them. I got a message that he had fanned me, but his 'fan' of me never landed in my fan pages, & when I tried to message him I rec'd a message that I could not because he hadn't fanned me! The message that he had fanned me had also disappeared. This guy is a trickster & probably the hacker. He's done it a few times. His name is 'Lundon' , from GA if I recall correctly, and he's hip-hop, rap I think. ***DO NOT OPEN his posts in RN! Use your discretion, but I would not even open his profile. after my experience of him. RN support has not answered any of my emails, except with the message that it would take at least 2 business days. so I am going to make all the above as public as I can. Meanwhile MERRY CHRISTMAS! Your music has brightened my year, and your support has warmed my heart. You and all my RN friends, are all precious and important! Thanks again. Love, Magicsong
Bassist Avishai Cohen: youtube.com/watch?v=H-ZYxftpsak I'm very impressed seeing what Avishai has accomplished. At age 21 he played in my trio, in NYC, while studying here, getting his career started. We gigged at Birdland, Village Gate, Filli Ponte, 5&10, The WBAI Crafts Fair in a building at Columbia U., an Israeli nightclub in lower Brooklyn, and places I can't recall. We were interviewed on WBAI fm radio. Avishai's earliest recorded composition (to my knowledge) is on my first demo. I had invited the guys to each record an original on my demo, to use it as their demo as well. (I wasn't paying them much, so this made it tastier, and beneficial to all!) A composition by extraordinary pianist Jason Lindner, is on it too. Avishai hadn't named his piece, so I called it it 'Blues Up', and he liked the name. In my promotion materials I called him, at age 21 "the bass players' bassist". Maybe I'm psychic. _________________________________________________________ When I get past the transmutation of that tape to my computer, I'll play some of the songs here. __________________________________________________________________________ The duo pieces on this profile have Ted Trimble on bass, another excellent player, now deceased. Many of you have commented on his genius, especially on 'Poor Butterfly' and "I Fall in Love Too Easily', and I'm glad that he's getting that appreciation, although he's no longer here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekkFCPo0lAE Sonny Rollins on Monk, his mentor
Zelda Williams, his daughter, quoted French poet Antoine De Saint-Exupery "You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them ... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night ... You - only you - will have stars that can laugh." ~~~~~adding "I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up."
Monk said: "I don’t consider myself a musician who has achieved perfection and can’t develop any further. But I compose my pieces with a formula that I created myself. Take a musician like John Coltrane. He is a perfect musician, who can give expression to all the possibilities of his instrument. But he seems to have difficulty expressing original ideas on it. That is why he keeps looking for ideas in exotic places. At least I don’t have that problem, because, like I say, I find my inspiration in myself."
That comment from Christine McHoes: "Billie's magic is Back !" made my day! No, my year! Listen to her, a voice as sweet as Billie's
