It’s a great day in the Zephyr camp. Performing at the HARD Battle of the Bands in Hayward last night was amazing….35 bands auditioned, 10 bands competed and Zephyr took 2nd place. Very cool. I continue to be amazed at not only what true musicians they’ve become but also just how humble these now young men are. They’re not trying to be famous, don’t seem to care about music trends. They play ...their heart and they’re always surprised when anyone says “wow you guys are good”. I feel I must share a recent post by our youngest band member Seth (Drums). I can tell you there are no prouder parents at this moment in time. “Being in this band that I am in right now has changed my life since day 1, at first I thought it was just about being famous and being known around the world, but no it’s not about that, it’s about having the best times of your life with the band members that you are with, including playing music, playing in concerts, but the most important thing is your friendship and the best memories that you’ve had with them, but you could be the best band if you wanted to, but it’s not the biggest priority for my group, in the 5 almost 6 years that I’ve been with these guys, there is nothing that I would do that would break our friendships, there will be ups and downs in this, but that’s just life, the point is that I love these guys as if they were my brothers, they are a family to me and they mean a lot to me. Even though we lost our original bass player he is still a part of this family. And I love being a part of GK Music because they’re all a family to me. (:” Seth Ilog

Today Zephyr is auditioning to compete in the longest running Battle of the Bands in the US...The HARD Battle of the Bands in Hayward CA, 50th anniversary. 35 bands, 12 finalists. Again, wish us luck!
Manteca, California, October 28, 2012—The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) today announced that Zephyr with band members attending schools in Manteca and Escalon, have made it to the semi-finals round of this year’s School Jam USA, a national teen battle of the bands aimed at encouraging teens to play music and support their school music programs. Online voting is from November 1st through November 30th. 8000 online votes will count for up to 50 of the 100 points needed to advance to the finals. This is a great opportunity for Zephyr as they are and have been committed to supporting their community and school music programs. Earlier this year the boys in conjunction with GK Music sponsored a fund raiser for Lathrop High School and raised $450.00 for the school music program. Zephyr could potentially win $1000.00 for each of the five schools Zephyr band members attend. With three of the five band members participating in school music programs this is the true driving force for this competition. We would love if everyone we know and everyone who follows us spread the word. You can register now at http://www.schooljamusa.com and vote once a day starting Thursday, November 1st.
Zephyr is quiet this month....but stay tuned...
Going to the recording studio...stay tuned
