Today's track: Inside Out (track 9 of Inside Out)

Says Missy:

"That tune is really about loss ... but the tune really also has a sense of hope at the end of the day. That’s what I tried to create as much as one can without words.”

A New Tune Every Day! We’re streaming the tracks off of the brand new CD - 1 a day, every day - through this week. Here’s a chance to hear INSIDE OUT before it hits the streets on Tuesday, February 10.

Today's track: Tattoo (track 7 of Inside Out)

It takes an adventurous band to leave all the spaces between the notes. Here the new hip does it in the name of love, on Laurie Lewis' song 'Tattoo'.

Today's track: Pootie Tang (track 5 of new CD)

Pootie Tang...according to Wikipedia, it's Too Cool For Words. (Don't believe us? Look it up! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pootie_Tang) This groove slab sprang fullformed from the minds of Mike and Gabe Witcher.

Today's track: Magnolia (Track 4 of Inside Out)

Track 4: Magnolia

A one-of-a-kind love song. Transcendant, really. And the album’s second Ed Snoddelry song.

Today's track: Basket of Singing Birds (Track 2 of Inside Out)

This refreshingly honest and poetic Ed Snodderly song gets to shine in this take by Missy Raines and the New Hip.

missy raines & the new hip sign to Compass Records

Ok, so I have been waiting to tell you this for days now, and I'm about to utterly explode... we have signed with Compass Records and will be releasing our very first full length CD, Inside Out, on Compass Records February 10, 2009! YAY!!! YAY!!! YAY!!! Can I just say I'm excited down to my toes?

It's been phenomenal working with Michael, Ethan and Dillon on this music. Creativity flowed, ideas flew off the walls, we laughed, we cried, and we consumed a lot of brownies. I am thrilled with what we came up with.

And, there's not a label I'd be more proud to be on than Compass or people I'm more excited about getting to work with. So hang on to your hats, folks, we've got something special coming your way.
