Wow, a lot has happened since the release of our first EP, Inertia Massacre. We played a rigorous show schedule last summer, followed by a fantastic show at Axum Lounge Washington DC in August. We took a break for some time, developing merch and writing new songs. Gussy's in Astoria, NY saw us come back in full-force with the help of Castle Lifers where we debuted 2 new songs.
In 2013, we played 2 more local shows with Castle Lifers. Opening for Wool Over Eyes in May was a big win. In June and just this past August 10th we concluded the Inertia Massacre "Tour" with by far 2 of our best shows to date at the Unknown Bikers Club and Place Bar & Lounge. Thanks to Necromancer Productions and No More Underground!
Now, to record that demo of 5 new songs-- pre-production for our next EP, our first official commercial release! One song has still never been played live, but our own Matt Lippa nailed all 5 for drums. Sadly, he is going to Berkeley in Boston for college in a week, but we will try to work it out via commuting; he's too valuable to lose! And hopefully connections at Berkeley will help us out! So lets keep our fingers crossed. We may hopefully expand our base to Boston, and do a Boston-Jersey-NYC-Baltimore tour early 2014!!
Well its been an intense 3-day recording session for our debut EP! We decided to take a break and play a show at Bar East, alongside metallers such as Thera and Eyes like Cyanide. We handed out rough mixes of the album, but we're not stopping there!
In just 2 weeks we'll re-enter the studio to mix the hell out of this EP, and at that it will stand as an immortal cornerstone of Proxima Control!
Things have been spectacular since we found Matthew Lippa as our new drummer. Shows have been killer, songs improved, and new material has shaken the scene to the core. Not to mention we have an amazing drummer now!
So we've all decided its time to immortalize the music on a self-titled EP--4 re-vitalized songs from our demo "Ride These Delusions" and 1 unheard new song. Expect there to be some bonus material as well..
Lastly, as luck would have it, we've won studio time at the March 18th Bandwars 2012 showcase! We'll thus be recording/mixing at Night Owl Studios (bandwars sponsors) in Manhattan. Around that time, we'll be opening up for the metal band Pyrrhon.
Proxima Control just got a bit closer..
Well by now you should have heard that we have found our new drummer, Matthew Lippa, and he's amazing!! If you were able to see our last show (Bandwars 2011 in November), you probably would have noticed that everything sounded much better, primarily due to having a competent drummer this time, and we're overjoyed about that. Proxima Control also gained much exposure here with the help of the combined crowds-- hopefully we'll see a lot of new faces at our upcoming events, and if you're reading this, don't be afraid to say hi! We love meeting new fans! Following said battle of the bands, we won the wild card vote (thanks guys!) earning us an exposure package by Supernova's Corina Newby. Our lineup finally being stable, we can now move on with more exciting ventures, such as thoroughly invading the New York City club/venue circuit and recording another demo this winter! What about this demo you say? We will include 1-2 all-new songs, and the rest will probably be 3-5 songs off our last demo, but done professionally and significantly polished up. The new track(s) will definitely be something fresh both for us and the scene. We're stoked about the opportunities we'll gain by recording the new demo, I'm personally really looking forward to it, and I hope you guys are too. If it turns out to be super-high quality, we'll even see about making an EP of it! Anyway our next show is at Sullivan Hall, January 4th, and I hope to see everyone who's heard the name Proxima Control !!

Ladies and gents! Thanks again for coming out and supporting us this past Sunday at the Knitting Factory for Band Wars 2011! It was a real blast and we were glad to see so many new enthusiastic faces there.
We've been getting increased traffic to our internet sites, and we'd love to reach out more to new fans that we've never met. Don't be shy-- post, comment, criticize, praise, etc!
Lastly, we had to let our old drummer go today due to his conduct and performance over the past month. We're frantically looking for a new one, so totally let us know if you know any drummers age 18-28, or if you're one yourself! -Jack H, John P, Ben S, Matt Z
