Champagne - formerly Steve and Mary E / Blog

Right when you are questioning why...

Last night while performing at Frankie's in Union Pier, and pondering my music, a wonderful woman walked up to us and handed me a piece of paper. I thought it was going to be a song request, or someone's birthday, etc. When I opened it up and saw a very generous tip tucked inside a note I almost cried! This is what she said, " it is quite obvious that you love performing...we enjoyed your music. But, I have never heard ANYONE pull off Joni Mitchell and George Harrison!! Big fans..L and C."

Summer in Michiana!

There is nothing like summer time here in Michiana. Michiana to us includes, the vibrant lake communities from Chersterton up to St. Joe Michigan and over to South Bend. It is an area alive with restaurants, pubs, wineries and breweries. Steve and I are thrilled to be bringing our particular, unique sound to many of the local hangouts. We are available for booking and cannot wait to spread our musical influence to winer's, diner's and sudser's! We do a wide variety of songs and admittedly we do the tunes we loved growing up and still hold as great memory evokers now. It is wonderful to hear people come up to us, (sometimes in the middle of a song) and share how much they love our harmonies, or thank us for singing a song that they haven't heard in years! More than anything we love the people, the servers, the bartenders, the pourers, the brewers, the wine-makers, the countryside, the lake front and all the incredible things that make this area an incredible place to live! We cannot wait to see you at one of our gigs! Come on up and say hello!

Named Best Acoustic Duo 2015

Steve and Mary E., started making music in the autumn of 07' For many years I was a part of the music scene in Kankakee Illinois. For 15+ years straight I sang with the Kankakee Municipal Band. In addition to this for 20 years I sang many weddings, funerals, special events, charity concerts and was known for my a Capella rendition of the Start Spangled Banner. In 2007 I was fortunate to join up with an incredible musician Steve Champagne. Steve brought with him the ability to pick up a guitar or sit at a piano and play pretty much anything he heard. A Beatles aficionado and lover of classic rock tunes, he willingly expanded his repertoire to embrace my varied love of music. We are thrilled to be performing for the people of my home town and accepting this award. http://reverbnation.com/stevandmarye
