Exhaust/Soulstrippa Postings

Hello all! There are some new songs up on the page to check out. I've uploaded some highlights of Exhaust live performances from last fall as well as highlights from SoulStrippa's "Last New Year" tour. In each track, I am playing the drums and jamming along with great friends and musicians.

New Direction/New Video

Thanks to my bandmates in Exhaust for a rocking summer/fall! It was tons of fun rocking out with you guys! 2011 was a great year!

I played my last gig with Exhaust on Friday 12/9. I wish the band the best of luck as I head in a new direction for 2012.

Luckily, we got a little bit of video from our last gig together. Check out the video section for footage of "Crack Dolla", an Exhaust original written by my good friend Rick (check his page in my links, TBP). Rick is killin the bass, I'm on drums, and Nino plays guitar off camera.

Keep your eyes out for Exhaust with their new drummer, the party will continue as those guys keep rocking! I'll be up to something new in 2012 also, so stay tuned...

Happy Holidays!

Live Shows

Exhaust is coming to Morgantown! We have some good shows booked up so come out and rock with us!

Any Morgantown bands out playing this winter?

Playing Live

Wow, been having a great time playing live with Exhaust. Thanks to everyone who's coming out to the shows. We are going to be in a few familiar places, and several unfamiliar places this fall, so it should be a good time.

If you've read this far, send me a message and tell me about your favorite live music experience. Whether you were playing or watching, tell me what's up!

Check out Exhaust!

Hey all! I'm excited to say that Exhaust has launched a reverbnation page. Exhaust is primarily a cover band with a lot of energy and some good tunes. You can follow the links on my homepage to the site, or follow this link.

New tracks/influences

A few days into it and I've gotten a couple small teases uploaded. These are a few snippets from recent jam sessions on an original heavy rock project.

This style is one of my favorites and comes from a lot of my earlier influences. When I was first learning the drums I listened to a lot of Metallica and Nirvana. I spent hours behind my drumkit with a CD player, headphones, and tried to learn every track as accurately as I could. I love the heavy hitting, hard rock style, and it is very much ingrained in the roots of my drumming.

As time progressed I started listening to more players like Carter Beauford and Jimmy Chamberlin. I'm still amazed at the technical prowess these drummers have. You'll find a lot of my playing pulls heavily on the style of their drumming. It's difficult as a drummer to keep a focus on the musical perspective and not overplay. Thinking about how these guys would handle situations musically is a constant motivator to me, and helps me strike a balance between chops and groove.

Keep checking back for updates and new samples! I'll be working on some new grooves and styles for the next post!
