Allright yall, I have completed this website and want it to be an ultimate fan hub for Da Bluez Preacher. Im hoping by weeks end to have my store up and running with all the preacherman swag! Ive also put all my upcoming gigs in so its up to date, and I will continue to keep this up to date.

Behind the Songs part 1

Sup yall, I am starting a mini topic series telling you the meaning and different stuff behind the songs I have written. First song I would like to start with is probably my most popular one "No black no white just bluez". It is on my first album "Lay it Down" and it is the 2nd single I ever wrote. Back in 2006 when I was vacationing down in memphis with my wife, I was strolling around Beale St. and I came upon a cool swag type of shop with blues parephenalia. On one of the bumper stickers i saw the words "No Black No White Just Blues", then it said memphis tennessee. I thought, man, what a catchy phrase and also what a loaded phrase. Racial insensistivity on all sides has been and continues to be a blight on society, but it seems music(especially blues) is one factor where it can bring people in and forget why they hated the guy next to him or why he feels the way he does about his fellow man. Blues is typically thought of as "race music" mostly because of the black generation that brought us this incredible music. I have noticed in various blues jams ive been in or sat in with other blues musicians, the egos hit the road and its all about enjoying the music before them. A lot of blues songs have been written about the racial injustices as a way for that generation to tell the world how they came through this. There will always be bigotry and hatred both for races and religions but I see that most common sense everyday people have put this behind them and carry on in equality. Of course there is the "fringe" side both in politics and civil groups who wont leave well enough alone and continue to bring up race for their own political or ideological agendas when the rest of us have left it in the past. This song says, "Hey, I love my neighbor for the content of his/her character not the color of their skin or the God they serve. Come enjoy this music with me and lets party till the lights get turned off." Remember, recognition of the past is good to the point of history , but please leave it in the past and lets all move on, no black no white just bluez baby!! can ya dig it!

Verse 1: Up from the ashes, aclling my name. Im coming to you like a hurricane. Swinging the blues with the guitar hanging low. making ya high, making ya cry, gospel coming from the sweet by and by. Every chord I strum make ya rattle and hum tonight. Bridge: The house is packed, the preacher is back, got the sweet sounds of blues strapped right on my back. The rivers are high the valleys are low so if yall are ready well here we go. Chorus: No black, no white just bluez. giving them something, something they can use. no black no white just bluez. no time to sit no time to quit, can ya dig it? Verse 2: Look at the clock I think its time to rock, I got the blues gonna knock you right outta your socks. Jump on board we gonna ride these blues tonight. Well Im your preacher Im your teacher Im your engineer, we gonna rock these blues like we just dont care. Give me a howl, give me a shout tonight. I said hot to the touch, sweet to the taste, everybodies jumping up and down right in this place. Rythmn and blues to get you through your trials, were gonna turn this party out Preacher-Style.
