Klehma / Blog

2012 Ends and Klehma Begins

2012 came to an end just a few days ago. But much has happened since the last blog in May of 2012. Klehma has continued it's movement into the Kansas City music scene. During the summer we had the pleasure of playing with Marasmus, Sicadis, Torn the "F" Apart, Gornography, Night Creation, Wrath and Ruin, Among the Demons, Scum of the Earth, Othis, Harvest the Flesh, 3 Quarters Coma, Before Dead Summer, Waltz of the Rabid, Obliterate the Apex, an awesome lineup at the first ever Nub Stock event and many other great bands in the area!! We have had a great response to our new album and our live performances thanks to the solid efforts by Mr. Nick Yeates of TTFA. Nick did an incredible job of learning Klehma's music and helping us play our shows while still being able to work with TTFA and their intensive playing schedule as well. We can't say enough about this great guy. If you know Nick Yeates you will agree, him and his band TTFA are some solid guys!! We just dig those guys much. They have done a lot for us. Then in October of 2012 Klehma found a new member. Nick and TTFA were writing their new album and Klehma had been searching for a full time member. Enter Kaylan Harrington formally of "Down to Ruin". Kaylan was a quick learn and played his first show with Klehma in October in Lawrence at The Jackpot. Kaylan has since joined with us to continue our writing process and to march forward with the live show onslaught in 2013!! We have many more shows coming up this year and we have a new t-shirt print coming out that we are excited about as well. Johnny has officially opened his DEVILCLIFF studios and has been doing movie and info-mercial soundtracks. But the studio looks good and Klehma may even record the new album there. So you can see much is on the horizon.

Klehma in Motion

Klehma finally has risen. In April of 2011 we played our first live show. We entered a Battle of the bands! Yeah, we know. But thing is we entered it without any songs built or ready. Just riffs and ideas by that time. We had 2 months to make it happen. We created 4 songs, with only 2 with lyrics. We played the preliminary round and won first place to enter the finals. In the finals at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City Klehma won the Battle! We played two more official shows and then entered the studio in December of 2011. Recording went fast and the band quickly moved to mixing and prepared to release the album on Friday April 13th, 2012. But in early March, Klehma was faced with replacing their lead guitarist. A replacement guitarist was found in Nick Yeates, current guitarist in TTFA. Nick is now working with the band to cover live shows and learn the unrecorded material Klehma has to move foward with original works. The release show was a success. We sold a good percentage of merchandise and got great reviews on the album and it's looks! As of May 5th here, we have the album for sale world wide on the internet and have some real international interest! We are now in the stage of moving forward to continue the Klehma saga for us and the fans. More to come.....
