Yes, you read right, 2 (two) projects at the same time! I'm so excited to be working with my new group, Blue-Artists Group from Washington DC. They are great and have many new exciting plans for me this upcoming year. I call Mr.Walters, C.E.O., Ms. Calliste, Project Manager, and Koetnye my Publicist, super people. The difference they have made in my music career can't be measured. If you go to the new WWW.MICHAELEGLETON.COM powered by Blue-Artists, you'll get an opportunity to hear and see what they have done. You can also hear the unfinished version of my new early release from the new project, called " Why Does It Hurt So Bad". Along with this release will be the flip side song " Playing A Game" featuring KT Beats, an up and coming beat maker and rapper from Atlanta, GA. This is my defining release and promises to be my best work to date with other guest talents like Bill " Soulman" Clark of Atlanta, GA making a guest appearance on the sax, and music from Akron's own Derrick Gallespy formerly of the Parkway group from Atlanta, GA. There will be other guest and musicians such as the fabulous Mike Oharah on guitar and the one and only Derrick "Doc" Johnson on Bass with also Ben Powers appearing on bass and drums. I'm happy to also be working with my new producer Wes over at Creekside Audio who has done work with the new Transformer movie and many other movies, commercials, and artist productions. So you see, the year is starting out with a bang already! There is an east coast tour planned, and more activities surrounding the new project. We'll see on that one. lol It's been fantastic writing to you and visit me at the new WWW.MICHAELEGLETON.COM to see the new web site and hear a preview of the new cut. Tell me what you think, hit or no. Ok talk soon!
Hello to you who may be reading this post! Thanks for stopping by. I'm so excited and Blessed to do another life expression in music with my new project due out summer of 2014. I haven't really said a whole lot about it so I thought I would tonight. I'm working with some great artists , engineers, musicians and Beat specialists for this one! That's Alright, was an introduction for me. This project will be more defining for me as an artist. One of the songs on this project is named " Playing A Game ". On this joint I'll be collaborating with a fairly new, young, fresh sounding beat maker named KT Beats of Atlanta, GA. He'll also be appearing on track doing what he do! The lyrics of this offering tell the story of a sensual, temptress who uses not only her looks but also her convincing words to manipulate unsuspecting male victims into doing what ever she wants for sport. She's done it so much until it has just become a game to her. Not a game of if she can, She knows she can, but a game of what will be done... How far will she take it..... This unsuspecting male victim warns her that she'll be served the same cold dish one day .... and he does! Some of the lyrics compare her love to a drug, the pull being strong, trusting one's words ...believing what was said, left holding a bag ect .... the game is described as a game of give and take. Once she loses, it shakes her like an earth quake! Starting to get the picture? Has this ever happened to you or someone you may know? Unfortunately this situation has been true for many. As for me, I don't write music about things I may not know about or have experienced. I try not to sing a lie. The truth rings like a bell ya know..... It can be a devastating life event. To be played with like a toy .... This joint has a nice up tempo, bold beat and I'm looking forward to finishing it with KT! This project is definitely pulling me out of my comfort zone with the different types of music and lyrics being done. There will be more guest also appearing on this work. As for me, I look forward to the knowledge I will gain from working with the different music veterans of the industry. By the way, this posting thing is kind a Qed out for me! I hope I'm doing it right! LOL LOL
Hello to my fans, new fans, friends, and well wishers, it's my pleasure to be writing to you. Well we are pushing forward on the new project and things are going well. Laying track after track and working into the night! This project promises to be an even more mature offering. The select few who have heard the rough mix of my new song "Why Does It Hurt So Bad ", are really feeling this song. They're saying things like " It's A Hit" and "OMG I'm feeling this song so...." some are just sitting with smile rocking to the beat .... It's a song dealing with an earlier part of my life that applies to many lives if you've lived long enough. We're also getting ready for Sweet Auburn with rehearsals also. So as you see music is the order of business with Michael Egleton. Well time to get my little notebook and start writing so I'll talk to you all next time!
Hello to my fans, new fans, friends, and well wishers, It's time for me to write something! lol Well work on the new project has officially started. My new song, "Why Did It Hurt So Bad", is nearly completed. This song has people of different age group and also some industry individuals, who have heard the rough copy already calling this song a Hit! That feels great to hear your moving in the right direction from the people who listen to and buy the music and also those in the industry who are movers and shakers in todays music. Expected release of this projected will be May of 2014. I want to say a big thanks to Derrick " Doc" Johnson for his work on the Acoustic Bass, Mike Ohara, for his work on the acoustic guitar, BJ Rice-Hubbard and Monica Bowman, Ms. Rhonda Johnson, of Atlanta, GA, for their contribution on the background vocals. The "That's Alright" project was an introduction to Michael Egleton. This second project will be a look right into the life of Michael Egleton. My thoughts and feelings about love, life and relationships. It's going to be done as to connect heart to heart with the listeners. Not just any listener, but listeners of many age groups, colors, backgrounds, races, and genders. This just the beginning. Watching this project take shape and began to form will be great. There are yet many things going on with the That's Alright project. One being the music video to the title song, That's Alright. The music video to this song will be releasing in days! Keep an eye out. This is a Tate Music Group production. The director of this video was Mr. Shawn Barfield. of Mustang, Oklahoma and Tate Music Group. Thanks to him and his staff for everything they have done to make this successful experience. Yes, the sleepless nights and missed meals have begun with the new project. I'll have a lot of help on this one. Many different flavors will be added to the pot to come up with a stew that will be tasty! I also wanted to send a big thank you to my new representation, Blue-Artists for all the work they are doing to take me and my music to the next level of my career. These people are working tirelessly to help pound me into what I need to be to make it in today's music. They are an award winning outfit that have developed the careers of some of the biggest stars you see today! They have nominations for movie awards from such places as B.E.T. and many more. The actual awards are countless. I'm thankful they saw something in me that could be an addition to their illustrious list of finds. The ride continues. Well it's time to get back to work. Keep watching here and my other sites for updated news. Things have shifted into hyper gear!
To all my fans, friends, family, I'm saddened to announce that the scheduled Ohio Players open for September 14th has been canceled due to negative business practices of the venue owner. ... hello to all my fans, new fans, well wishers and friends .... I haven't posted a Blog as of late and there is a good reason. I've been busy! lol Not so much as performing as I have been laying the ground work for new projects and performances to come. Believe me when I tell you the future holds a lot for me and my music ..... there are many things being put into play and the only way you'll know, is to stay tuned and follow my sites .... enough about me. I wanted to write about something else that many have asked or wondered about and it's my band ... The band that plays behind me are great professionals and their name is, The D.O.C. UNIT. The members are Derrick " Doc" Johnson, bass, and band leader, Mike Ohara, guitar and Ben Powers, drums. This is the core of the band. The additional professionals are Monica Bowman, background singer, Daryl " False " Crosby, rhythm guitar, don't ask! lol I don't know either! lol The D.O.C. UNIT, as they are called has played behind such greats as George Benson, Walter Beasley, Ben Powers yet plays with the P-Funk All Stars and there has been many other greats they have played with and for .... As for the area artists, it's a laundry list of many area talented artist that they help out by playing behind them. They are some of the busiest musicians in the area. I am grateful to them for taking the time out to take on and teach a new comer to the game such as myself. The instruction they give me about performing is invaluable. It's from their experience of playing with other BIG TIME artists and what they have gleaned from them by just watching. They have helped me with everything from presentation to delivery and closings ... I should say so much more about them .. sometimes in the rush of things one may neglect to give due where due should be given. I will say, without them I don't know how far along I'd be. As I said before, I luv this group of people and have the highest regard for them as people and artists. Then there is the great, Maria Jacobs. A great Jazz artist in her own right. She travels all over the country sharing her gift with the masses. She has two excellent offering available now and is working on her upcoming project to be released soon. She's played on terrestrial and internet stations everywhere. She has also been a great addition to my arsenal as a background singer. She is also a music educator. Yes, she teaches children doing the very thing she loves to do the most, music. What can I say about my voice coach Ms. Anna White ... Omg! She's super. She also yet performs in many musicals and plays. She's so easy to work with and doesn't miss a beat ... There you have it. The core that really makes me better as a person and an artist by just being in their company. I know the future for me holds much when I think of the work we have to do. This is the beginning and my better days as an artist, are ahead of me with help from people of this caliper. I want to say a heart felt and public thank you to them and to let them know I'm one of the luckiest people in the world for having them in my corner.
