There was a time in musics' more formative years, when an artist could release singles throughout a whole year until the album was actually was released. Now, it seems people are just bored with what they are hearing up to 5 days after buying an album. We have 2 - 3 generations that where drowned and saturated with commercial jingles being disguised and marketed as actual albums and music. So now at this time, that second generation that suffered through the heart of this are raising newer generations of children with no concept of natural rhythm, melodies, harmonies, and most importantly that "Human Element". Electronic music has become the preference of mainstream, and it seems most don't even give what they're listening to a second thought of what went into it... to create it. Don't get me wrong. I use electronics in my sounds as well, but a lot of my preferred sound are of that "shuffle" that makes ya toes tap (-: But most music that's being transmitted to the masses, are sounds that's been quantisized to perfection... Like a machine that will print a perfect circle, as opposed to an artist painting one with a brush. I'm a visual artist as well and I can tell you it's no easy task (-: ...maybe it's just me, but I decided a long time ago to stick to the roots... the natural elements... to use the gift as a lifeline to those who hear. I never had to learn how to be different with my sound. I just had to learn how my sound was different. Yes... I'm still learning.
