Hey Folks- As of September 1, 2010, my family and I will be living in Virginia and I will be "retiring" from live performances. I may play out somewhere every once in a great while, but for most intents and purposes, I'll just be a regular dude from now on. This decision has been a long time coming, and I'm super excited to shift gears and do something else with myself. I've done over 1500 shows since I started gigging almost a decade ago, I've met pretty much every cool musician I ever wanted to meet, and I feel like I've seen and done it all. I've accomplished more than I ever set out to do and I'm proud of the work I'm leaving behind. I guess I could try to take it farther and enter the fray as another hopeful country star and wear fancy brithces and get a cool haircut, but that holds absolutely no appeal for me. That would take away what music has meant to me all these years. I honestly just don't want to do it anymore. I'll always write songs and work on getting them cut by other folks, but that's as much as I want to do. I'm going to be at home at night and on weekends and just be a dad and a husband, whick I'm far and away better at than anything else. I could say thank you over and over to all of the people who have hopped on board and supported me through the years, but it would never be enough. You guys have given my family and I a good living and kept us going while letting me follow my muse. That is something that most guys like me never get to do, yet I got to spend almost a third of my life doing it. My last show with the band will be August 28 at the White Elephant, and I will do a final solo show on Ausgust 29 at Fred's. The next day, I head out for our new place in the woods. I hope to see as many of you as possible for one last round. I'll have a full schedule as usual until those last shows, so there will be plenty of chances to catch me before it's all in the books. Thanks again, Kurt
